Fendi finds a Home in Vienna

Fendi, the Italian fashion brand that has been synonymous with luxury and elegance since its founding in Rome, has found a new home in Vienna, Austria.

This month, Fendi opened its first freestanding boutique in Vienna’s first district with an official inauguration ceremony and asked me if I would like to be part of it as a photographer.

It was a hard working day but I enjoyed every single moment of it. We began at 09:00 shooting with Carola Pojer from ViennaWedekind. At 12:00 we started shooting Vicky from Bikinis&Passports and Kathi from Ketchembunnies.

Our goal was to photograph the girls wearing pieces from the Resort 2017 Fendi collection with Vienna in the background. I had prepared ahead of time a list of the most photogenic places in the center of Vienna.

It’s not everyday that you get to photograph beautiful girls wearing beautiful stylish outfits. I look forward to many more opportunities like this one.

I can’t tell you enough how much I loved all the FENDI outfits we wore on that day. But mostly the iconic red and white skirt that I was wearing (ah, why can’t I dress up like this everyday?).

By the way, have you guys seen their fashion show that took place at Fontana di Trevi in Rome? If not, watch it here. It is pure magic.

Fendi finds a Home in Vienna. The new Fendi boutique in Vienna is nothing short of extraordinary. The space is flooded with natural light, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. The clean, white walls are adorned with intricate gold details. The furniture is modern and sleek, yet still inviting. And, of course, the clothes are to die for. In short, it’s the perfect place to shop for luxury goods.

Jardin Majorelle Rue Yves Saint Laurent – another beautiful place to visit when in Morocco

I wrote a few words in my previous blog post and here, I can share some photos with you. Jardin Majorelle is not an easy place to photograph. The place is crowded and I personally don’t like having strangers in my photos.

It was also very hot and the sun was creating strong shadows and causing high contrasts, which is something that I don’t find very flattering in photography. Turns out your visit to Jardin Majorelle become a photography challenge…

For those reasons, we decided to visit Jardin Majorelle the day after for a second time, with the hope of finding less crowds and cooler temperatures. But it didn’t work out.

Jardin Majorelle Rue Yves Saint Laurent
Jardin Majorelle in Rue Yves Saint Laurent is truly a beautiful place to visit in Marrakesh. What you will find at Jardin Majorelle is: Blue walls, exotic plants and trees, fountains and vibrant colors, a bookstore, a boutique, the Berber Museum and the loveliest café ever where we spent about an hour and drunk something refreshing. I wish it won’t be long before I go back.

How to get around in Samos

If you intend to explore the island and you don’t want to spend your holidays just relaxing in your hotel, you will need to rent a car. Samos is not a small island, public transportation doesn’t help that much and cabs are quite expensive. Unless you decide you’ll spend all you money on taxis…

Where to stay in Samos

If I had to choose where to stay I would stay in Pythagorio. You can understand why if you check my photos here. If you are looking for a seaside resort, then check Doryssa Seaside Resort. My favourite hotel in Samos is Proteas Blu Resort.

MY BEST SAMOS TRAVEL TIPS

My favourite cafes in Pythagorio: Enigma (they don’t have a website) and 2spoons

Shopping in Samos: Remember to visit my friends Stella and Eva who have the loveliest fashion store in Pythagorio called 2the little store.

Villages by the sea: Pythagorio, Kokkari and Ireon

Locals says that the best taverna in Samos is Triantafillos. It is located in Palaiokastron. I went there last summer and it was super nice and the food was amazing. Just remember to reserve a table to avoid last minute disappointments.

There is an open air cinema in Mitilinious village. No matter what film they play, this is a unique experience on a Greek island.

What I really love: the bakery in Pythagorio. A must visit after midnight. It is on a side street…

BEACH BARS IN SAMOS

If you are looking for beach bars, then head to Asterias in Potokaki and to Navagos in Tsamadu beach. Keep in mind that Samos is not like Mykonos. Of course there are bars and night life but don’t expect to find a wild nightlife scene. I would say that Samos is rather a romantic destination for couples, ideal for families and for group of friends who aren’t party animals 🙂

HISTORY AND CULTURE IN SAMOS

If you are looking for history and culture, then go to the Temple of Hera in Ireon, to the Archeological Museum in Vathi and to the Tunnel of Eupalinos where you also get a very nice view of Pythagorio and of course you will take a picture in front of the statue of Pythagoras.

I hope my Best Samos travel tips will be helpful for planning your next holidays on Samos island. Remember to book your stay in Samos with Booking.com.

If your holidays are over, you are back to your country and have after holidays blues, know that you are not the only one…
