Oh, see where The Viennese Girl explored? That adorable spot in Paris, known as Used Book Café Merci. When it comes to cafes, I see them in two categories. There are the old, historic ones like Cafe Central in Vienna, always bustling with tourists, and then there are the new, modern ones like Merci, not as steeped in history but also not as crowded.

During my recent trip to Paris, I had a long list of cafes I wanted to visit. I was more interested in discovering cute coffee spots than touring museums, and I was worried I wouldn’t have time for them all. Luckily, I managed to visit every one on my list. Though I was disappointed to find out that Used Book Café Merci was running low on scones the day I went, it doesn’t matter much because I’m already planning to return.
