When I get to the beach, I always look for a sun bed close to the water because I like listening to the sound of the waves. When I enter the sea, I see small fishes around me which bite me over and over again. If I don’t stay until late by the beach, I head to Pythagorio for afternoon strolls and after that to Two Spoons, which is my favourite cafe in the whole island. I always order fresh lemonade and profiteroles. The best profiteroles ever. No surprise if I get some extra kilos while on holidays in Greece because you can’t say no to food here and in the evening we usually end up in a taverna eating Greek salad, fried potatoes and other delicious treats. In the meantime, I try to snap some shots for The Viennese Girl blog.

There are many bars, restaurants, cafes in Pythagorio. My favourite cafes are Two spoons and Enigma. Look for them if you ever get to Pythagorio, which I wish you do.♥

Well, now you might think that I exaggerate if I say summer in Greece is not the same as in other countries, but on the other side, some of you, might have the same opinion, especially those who have been in Greece once for holidays. For all the others who don’t have the same opinion, may those pictures above be persuasive enough and change your mind. 🙂

However, I remember some years ago, I was so excited to spend one week in Mallorca in Spain for holidays and although I was initially very excited to get there, after one week it hadn’t met my expectations. My initial thought was that I should try something different and go somewhere else on holidays and not only in Greece, but as I said, that Balearic island in Spain didn’t conquer my heart and makes me think that summer isn’t the same everywhere. Summer doesn’t have the same taste and smell everywhere. ♥

More Vienna posts from September. Now we are on holidays and I really enjoy taking photos wearing just a bikini and nothing else and try to forget the traumatic experience of taking pictures during the cold months

Here are some photographs I took in Tsamadou Beach in Samos. They say that there is a harbor seal in this beach, called Argiro (don’t know why), but I still haven’t had the luck to spot her (the seal is female they say), although other people have seen that cute sea animal. The seal has become the highlight of this beach because generally, as far as I know, there are not so many seals in Greece, so it’s great to see them when they show up on the beach.

While I was uploading those photos on The Viennese Girl blog, I realized one more time how much I love those colors and how life is better by the sea.♥

Back to paradise, in other words, back to this beautiful island called Samos where I come every summer. My direct flight from Vienna to Samos had a delay of about 4 hours because of the strikes at the airport in Greece. I spent more hours waiting in the airport of Vienna than inside the airplane during the flight but I am here, so no complaints. I was supposed to land on the Greek territory at 15.00pm approximately and drive directly to the beach and even wore a bikini under my clothes, but because of the delay, my direct visit to the beach was postponed for the following day.

I had a very warm welcome by friends and family here, even fireworks in the sky. Apparently not for my arrival but for a local festivity in Pythagorion on that day. The day after my arrival we went to Tsamadou beach and spent the whole day there, then we headed to the village next to the beach, Kokkari, where we had an evening stroll before we get back home. On this post I share some photos of Kokkari.

So glad to see them all again, friends and family, and I enjoy my time by doing simple things that I missed so much, like eating cheese pie at 3.00 am in the night and drinking granita by the sea. So glad to be back to paradise and to call this piece of heaven on earth home sweet home.♥

These are just some quick shots I managed to snap this Friday morning in Vienna. It has been a bit quiet on The Viennese Girl blog lately, but July is a month of exams for students, and consequently, like many other Uni Wien students, I have no other choice than spending hours in front of a book.

But, this Friday morning in Vienna, I took some time off and did some shopping (memory card for my photo camera), went to Cafe Feral for orange juice, strolled around the 6th, 5th and 4th districts and dreamt a lot about my coming summer holidays before I get back to my book at home. For the summer holidays, I have to wait until August but July also seems to be exciting and very promising. Something big and unbelievable will happen that makes me jump up and down, scream and cry tears of happiness. Stay tuned!

I had never been to Slovenia before although it’s not far away from Austria, so when the email with the invitation to explore Slovenian countryside landed in my email inbox, I knew I had to find some time and check what Slovenia has to offer.

Our travel destination was the region Prekmurje, that part of Slovenia which is between Hungary and Austria. We, other bloggers from Vienna and me, spent 2 nights at the 5 star hotel Livada Prestige and one night in an old castle, named Grad. Once we arrived in Slovenia a program full of activities was awaiting for us. We visited many traditional restaurants and farm houses, had exquisite meals and very good wine, made sweet love hearts, rafting down the river Mura, and did flying fox (aka zip-line) for the very first time in my life and flied above the swimming pools of Hotel Livada Prestige.

There were two highlights of the weekend in Slovenia: spending a night in an old castle and having lunch at the restaurant Rajh (still remember the asparagus soup). I loved both experiences. Have you ever had the chance to stay overnight in a castle? At the beginning I was a bit skeptical, but then I decided to give it a go, reminding myself how much I like experiencing new things in life. 1 old castle, 311 rooms, 2 girls: Vicky and me, sipping champagne, taking funny selfies under a sky full of sparkling stars, talking about ghosts and witches. Two more things I enjoyed during the weekend in Slovenia were wearing flip flops and drinking elder juice.

The whole excursion was organized by Best Press Story. Special thanks to the team of Best Press Story who showed us around their beautiful country. Thanks to them, we managed to visit places where we wouldn’t found if we were visiting Prekmurje as independent tourists.

We left Vienna Wednesday morning and returned Sunday evening. After four days in the Slovenian countryside, I realized how much of a city person (or an island person) I am, so I was glad to get back to my dear Vienna, and hope to get the chance to visit the Slovenian capital city, Ljubljana and its treasures.♥

My travel to Paris in April has been undoubtedly the highlight of the month. I wish I could visit this incredibly beautiful city every month and this little wish of mine is not meant to stay as just a wish. Who knows? Life is unpredictable. May Dior call me tomorrow and want me to take pictures of their next summer collection. : ) (ok, here you can laugh out loud.)

The last days of April have been very strange. My body was in Vienna and my mind was still in Paris. My mind just didn’t want to get back to Vienna. Maybe because I really had unexpectedly a very nice time in Paris or because this travel has been all I really needed at that specific time of my life or it is just a combination of those two factors. But you cannot easily forget moments of happiness in life, right?

On this blog post I publish a collection of Paris photos. How many Paris photos can your heart handle? I just took so many of them and cannot keep them in my archive only for myself. They are meant to be shared with all of you who follow The Viennese Girl blog.

Looking at those pictures, wouldn’t you say that Paris is the perfect city for the perfect Rendezvous? A Tête-à-Tête, a face-to-face meeting of just you and someone you like very very much.

While in Paris, I had the following dilemma. I didn’t know whether I should buy a metro ticket for 3/4 days or not. I decided not to and do everything on foot. That’s how I took hundreds of pictures. As a result, I ended up having my memory cards full and many metro tickets in my pockets, in my bag, in my wallet, I had those small parisian metro tickets everywhere…

Another day in paradise

Another day in paradise

another day in paradise

On Instagram I found some other Samos lovers and I am glad to share with them the excitement of being here. I hope the rest of you also enjoy my photo journal as I travel through the Greek islands. It is literally one more day in paradise for me here and it’s one more day in paradise for you as well, wherever you are.
I borrowed the title for this blog post from one of my favorite songs “Another day in Paradise”, although the song of Phil Collins is referring to a social problem and aim to raise awareness about the countless number of homeless people living on the streets world wide.

Oh think twice, it’s another day for
You and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it’s just another day for you,
You and me in paradise
