The Paris travel didn’t start well. An email that landed in my inbox was telling me that there are strikes in France that will affect the flights and that I should check my flight status before I get to the airport! On 9th April, there were 6 flights scheduled from Vienna to Paris by the airline that I had booked the ticket and the only flight that was cancelled that day with that company was mine! What happens in that case? I didn’t know because it was the first time that my flight got cancelled. You just have to call the airline immediately and ask them to give you a seat in another flight if possible. So, I called them and they booked me for the flight at 7.00 am. which was a nightmare because if I had to be at the airport at least 2 hours before the departure, that means that I had to leave home at 4am. Bad luck didn’t stop there. As soon as I arrived at the airport of Vienna, the airport ground staff told me that my flight to Paris was through Frankfurt although I had booked a direct flight. But the guy in the counter fixed that for me and I finally checked in. When I arrived in the French capital I was literally about to faint because the night before I didn’t sleep not even a minute. But the sun was shining above me and I was so happy to be in the city of lights for the third time in my life.
Those are the first pictures that I took in Paris and represent a sneak preview of what will come up on the The Viennese Girl blog in the following days. Follow my Paris adventures…
