The Viennese Girl Blog

The Viennese Girl Blog

I spend a lot of time reflecting on The Viennese Girl project. Not because I am unsure about it. But out of desire to provide readers interesting content. I wouldn’t dare to say high quality content because I am afraid I am still far away from it, but I am working to that direction.

It just takes time. Like all the good things in life. Nothing happens overnight. It’s a long process. Maybe it is the fact that it starts gaining visibility. The more visibility it gains, the more it scares me and motivates me at the same time to become better and better. I wouldn’t be happy if somebody visits the website and says, “it was a waste of time,”. On the other side, I have a friend who keeps telling me: you are too beautiful to be sad.

Although this blog started for fun, I should admit that I take it seriously. I thought a lot about it and I made up my mind. Good collaboration enquiries are more than welcome. Collaboration inquiries that are a good fit will be rejected. Sometimes we have to know to say No, right? Especially when something doesn’t fit or doesn’t add any value.

Despite the fact that I am neither a photographer, nor a journalist, nor do I have any idea on advertising and marketing, I use my brain, heart and instict, and I believe in that saying: practice makes the master. If you want something badly, you can achieve it.

1 year old

Soon the Viennese girl blog will celebrate its birthday. The first year of existence was something like an experimental year; so far I didn’t get any bad feedback and still I feel so excited having that little corner on the web where I can express myself through writing and photography.

Help from friends

I suppose that you all know that if we are alone in the world we cannot achieve anything. Of course there were persons who helped me and still help making this project reality. It’s such a nice feeling to have people that support you and believe in what you do, even if they are on the other parts of this earth!! They know who they are.

Stephansplatz in Vienna

Stephansplatz is synonym for the heart of Vienna, as it is literally situated in the heart of the city center and I guess it is the first thing that all tourists visit, once they have left their luggage in the hotel.

Visit St.Stephen’s Cathedral (in german Stephansdom), a gothic cathedral located right in the centre of Stephansplatz. In front of Stephansdom, you will be probably stopped from the seller who wants to sell tickets for concerts. If you aren’t interested, just thank them and move along. Enter the church to admire the inside of the cathedral, statues, paintings, and other artworks.

If you want to see the view from the top, you can climb the towers (the north one and the south tower) of Stephansdom and there are two ways to do so. Either you climb up the stairs (343 steps) which costs 4.00 euros or you go inside the church and take the lift up to the top of the tower which costs 5.00 euros. In my opinion, you ‘d better take the lift because if you take the stairs (a narrow spiral staircase), the view isn’t worth the effort of climbing 343 steps, unless you want a work out on that specific day. The view from the other tower is much better and you don’t have to climb 343 steps. As for me, after having done both, I realized my mistake and thought I should write that down so you can be aware of it.

Around the Stephansdom cathedral you have everything: shops, cafes, restaurants, and many other attractions nearby like the Opera, Hofburg, Stadtpark, and the Rathaus. On top of those tourist attractions, there are several major shopping streets such as Graben, Kohlmarkt, and Kärtnerstrasse but I would suggest you to move forward and discover all the other small side streets, less crowded but still very interesting.
