Be sun smart

I can remember myself as a teenager. I used to spend my summers on a Greek island. Summer holidays for me mean sun, sea and the beach. As teenagers, we had an entire month of holidays.

During that month, my coevals and I used to spend all day carefree on the beach, totally ignoring the risk of sun damage to our skin. It didn’t even occur to us that UVA rays could cause sunburns.

All we cared about back then was playing volleyball and beach racket, socialize and get a tan. Because being tanned was (and still is?) more beautiful to the eyes.

I remember that at the beginning of those holidays, my skin looked dull and pale. After the over-exposure to the sun for one month on a Greek island, my skin became a colour similar to dark chocolate (very proud about it). My cousin would have big problems with dark sunspots on his face. As for myself, I had less sunspots. I can remember him complaining about it and trying to get rid of all his facial sunspots.

Apart from all the natural remedies such as aloe vera, lemon juice and milk, VICHY comes with a professional treatment: Ideal Soleil anti-dark spots care SPF50+. I am glad that I got the chance to test this product for myself, and to write a few words about this topic and spread a little bit of extra awareness about the vital importance of skin protection against the exposure to the sun.

I am glad to also be able to recommend a product for my cousin to use before he gets exposed to the sun again during his next summer holidays. If you also face similar problem, consider putting this product in your luggage the next time you pack for holidays.

I would also like to draw your attention to this product, Ideal Soleil Anti-Sand SPF50, that just launched recently. It’s a new formula, enriched with Vichy Mineralizing Water to ensure skin protection.

Be sun smart

It keeps your skin hydrated and it has a velvety non-sticky feel, which allows sand to easily brush off of the skin.

My advice for this summer

Be sun smart, whether you are in the city or … on a Greek island savoring a slice of watermelon by the pool… just sayin’ hehe!

Morning beauty routine

For the visual story of this blog post I was inspired by the philosophy of the Vichy Slow Age products. The Vichy philosophy is all about take care of your self, sleep well, eat healthy, exercise, escape to the nature, breathe fresh air, and use high quality skin care products that will prevent skin aging.

I wanted to create a visual story that reflects those principles to remind me that self care is so important and it is something we unfortunately tend to forget.

4 steps for healthy and productive habits

Fact is that no one can avoid stress, damage from the sun, pollution, and fatigue. These are all factors of a busy lifestyle that we cannot control, but they have a huge impact on our skin.

What if we all adopt the following four steps in our every daily morning beauty routine?

Step 1: Vichy Puree Thermale, the facial cleanser.

I use it every morning to wash my face and feel awake, and every night to clean the impurities and remove make up.

Step 2: Mineral 89, the daily booster.

As soon as my skin is clean, I apply Mineral 89. I never thought I would ever use a product like that. I got hooked on it because it feels like silky water on my skin. Just one drop is enough for the whole face. It can be integrated in every skincare routine, as the first step after the cleanser, has the highest amount of VICHY THERMAL WATER in combination with hyaluronic acid and together the formula strengthens your skin and hydrates the skin just perfectly.

This product has become my favourite!

Step 3: Vichy Slow age daily creme

This face cream comes in two different formula, which is very clever since we don’t all have the same skin complex. The one formula is the one that you see in this blog post and the other one was in my previous blog post To get a better feeling of the two formula, you need to check it out! Find the one that matches your skin! This face cream has been a staple part of my morning beauty routine for a long time now.

Step 4: Vichy Slow Age for the eyes

Last step of my morning beauty routine but very essential. Creamy and soft, it’s easy to use and leaves a smooth finish.

All the Slow Age products are Paraben-free, hypoallergenic, and contain the Vichy thermal water which is the star ingredient of the brand. The Vichy thermal water is rich in 15 different minerals which provide long lasting hydration and improve skin quality.

As I have already mentioned in my previous blog post, there is no magical cream that will do magic on your skin. Take care of yourself. Choose a healthy lifestyle. Use a high quality skin product and you will see your skin shine every morning.
