It was 2018 when we visited Blue Sand boutique Hotel and Suites in Folegandros for the first time. You can see my blog post from that first visit here. Two years passed by. We felt an urge to go back, so this September we did.
Blue Sand boutique Hotel and Suites never stop to surprise us and never fail to meet our greatest expectations! Although it was our second visit, there were new things to explore and new memories to be made. For instance, one day during our stay, the team of the hotel organized a private boat tour for us. We swam in crystal clear waters and explored countless secret coves and beaches that were only accessible by boat. The yacht can be privately chartered for a day or half day, so consider this activity if you plan to visit Folegandros island.

One night we stayed at the luxury Bohemian villa of Blue Sand. It is called Makarias villa and it is located in the more quiet area of Ano Meria. This villa is perfect for those who would like some more privacy when staying in Folegandros, combined with great rustic Folegandros design and beautiful views.

Despite the global pandemic that has affected the tourism industry severely, and despite the fact that it was September (low season for Greek summer), Blue Sand was fully booked, which is a proof of how amazing this place is and what good work Katerina and her team do at Blue Sand.
At Blue Sand you can have everything that your heart desires for a perfect holiday and a real escape from the routine: relaxation and adventure, exclusivity and privacy, aesthetics, fashion and design, landscape and fantastic cuisine, the sea and the sun.

How to get to Folegandros island from Vienna
The easiest and fastest way is to take a direct flight from Vienna to Santorini (check Wizzair flights) and then take the ferry from Santorini to Folegandros. The trip lasts only 40 minutes. Book your ferry tickets online in advance with Ferries in Greece.

We love Blue Sand boutique Hotel and Suites in Folegandros and everything about it. So yes, we can definitely imagine ourselves coming back here summer after summer.
