#iSwitched

#iSwitched. From my primary mobile phone, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G. Please keep reading to see the reasons behind my decision.

Samsung is pushing the envelope in innovation, and I find it so exciting to watch the progress of a foldable smartphone over the years. Last year I was a user of the Galaxy Z Flip. This year I own the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Most mobile phones you can buy these days are made flat. And I guess that’s one of the reasons that make the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 so unique. Because it’s different, it’s impressive. It’s an eye-catcher wherever you go. People who haven’t seen a phone like this before get impressed. So it’s safe to say the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 brought some cool factor into the game, and it has been enjoyable to use so far.

#iSwitched

Here are five reasons that made me switch. In other words, why you may also consider switching to a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3:

1. Compact Form Factor
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is a hit with ladies. It fits everywhere! Having a smartphone that fits in most of my small pockets and small handbags is impressive! Fold it and put it in your pocket. And when out of pocket, the screen is big enough for practical use and reading.

2. Flex Mode
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 works like a tripod. Prop it on any surface, adjust the angle and take the shot.

And for those who are sceptical and afraid that the screen may crack and prevent the smartphone from folding, Samsung claims that the hinge has been tested and retested for durability to help ensure that it stands up to the folds and unfolds of everyday living, so that you get the most out of your foldable device.

The innovation and the artistry behind the technology of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 need to be appreciated.

3. Iconic Cover Screen
By default, the 1.9-inch Cover Screen displays the time, the battery and the date. In addition, you have access to various widgets and notifications by swiping left and right. You don’t always have to open the phone to see those. Instead, swipe and interact with them intuitively.

4. IPX8 Water Resistance
I do not plan to dunk the phone in the water nor drop it in a puddle, but you can do it if you want to. What I love doing is taking photos of raindrops or film when it rains. And when I do that, I want to be on the safe side. I want to know in advance that the phone will be just fine and that I will have fantastic raindrop shots.

5. Lavender case perfectly colour coordinated with my Galaxy Buds2
My case comes with a very cool ring loop that keeps the two parts of the case together. But if you wish to get rid of the loop, you can unclip it from the inside. I prefer keeping the ring loop, as it allows me to get a good grip of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, and it also serves as a pop socket. I chose the lavender colour because it perfectly matches my Galaxy Buds2.

The verdict: If you love the idea of a folding phone, don’t look any further.

Rhodes in October

It’s been a while since the last time the Greek Tourism Board in collaboration with Austrian Holidays organised a press trip to the Greek islands. Luckily, we got back on track.

In the middle of October, a little before the summer season ends for good, a group of journalists and I flew from Vienna to Diagoras International Airport in Rhodes island on a press trip organized by the Greek Tourism board and Austrian holidays. It was a short trip, but we had a wonderful time.

For anyone who cannot make its mind, has doubts and is not sure whether a trip to Rhodes in October is a good idea (weather-wise) let me tell you this: it is a very good idea. I still remember the moment I stepped into my hotel room, went straight forward to the balcony to check the view and saw people swimming in the sea. It’s good that I witnessed this with my own eyes, so that I know where to fly to next October. For when I wish to catch the last rays of summer sun, I will make sure to check the direct flight from Vienna to Rhodes island with Austrian holidays.

The best time to visit Rhodes

Rhodes is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece. The island has everything that a traveller could ask for – beautiful beaches, picturesque villages, ancient ruins, and stunning natural scenery. However, the best time to visit Rhodes depends on your interests and what you are looking for.

If you are looking for a relaxed vacation, with fewer crowds and more pleasant weather, then October is the perfect month to visit Rhodes. During this time, the island experiences fewer tourists, making it easier to find accommodations and restaurants that suit your budget.

The temperature during October is pleasant, with average highs of around 24°C and lows of 18°C, making it ideal for exploring the island. Additionally, the sea temperature is still warm enough for swimming and other water activities.

Moreover, during October, you can enjoy the stunning autumn foliage on the island. The trees shed their leaves and create a beautiful mosaic of reds, yellows, and browns. If you are a nature lover, you will find Rhodes during October to be a perfect escape.

Overall, the best time to visit Rhodes depends on your preferences. If you prefer a more relaxed and quieter vacation, then October is the best time to visit Rhodes.

A visit to Symi island

We spent the last day of this press trip in Symi island. We went to Symi for just one day.  What a beautiful day that was it! And so much laughter! I had a swim in Pedi, a small traditional fishing village. And afterwards, we had a wonderful lunch in an amazing beachfront taverna. This lunch felt like it was our way to say farewell to the Greek summer for 2021. Tip: If you go from Rhodes to Symi, it’s worth staying longer.
