8 MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

8 MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY TIPSMake the most out of your Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G camera with these 8 mobile photography tips:

1. Before you go out and take any photos, clean your camera lenses. A clean lense will ensure that you get a bright and clear image with your smartphone camera.

2. Turn on the grid lines (also known as The rule of thirds – you will find them in the Camera Settings). The grid lines help you to frame the shot. You can use the grid lines to make sure that the horizon is perfectly aligned or that your subject is dead center. However, keep in mind that the grid lines are just guidelines. Look around, play around, mess around with the grid lines, and develop your own style.

3. Shoot vertically and choose the 3:4 ratio if you shoot photos for your Instagram feed. Choose the 9:16 ratio if you shoot photos for your Instagram Stories. Click on all the ratio options to see which ratio offers you what, so that you know what you can do with them when you are out for shooting.

 8 MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

4. When you find an object that you want to photograph, shoot using all four lenses of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G: the ultra wide, the wide, the tele 1 and tele 2 lenses. So many options! By using all these lenses, you create different compositions from one location AND you get to train your photographic eye! Try to be creative and get perspectives that people don’t see everyday.

5. Over the last years smartphone cameras have gotten better and better at detecting small details. Go really close to details that catch your attention and snap your shot. I love to do that with flowers for instance. When you go really close to your object, the Focus Enhancer of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G macro camera turns on automatically for a better focus. Macro means close-up! This feature makes for some unique and interesting photos because it brings out all the intricate details of whatever it is you are shooting.

6. The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G gives you the possibility to shoot at 108MP. To turn this option on, click up on the top of your screen, where the aspect ratios are. If you choose to use this option, be mindful of the fact that the photos will take up a lot of space from your memory. The advantage for shooting at 108MP is that you get a really detailed image, and you are able to create lots of different compositions from that one photo.

 8 MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

7. Utilise all the camera modes that your Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G gives you. Get to know all the camera modes of your phone. The PANORAMA mode, the SINGLE TAKE, SLOW MOTION, SUPER SLO-MO, NIGHT MODE and the HYPERLAPSE mode. All these are super cool modes to experiment with. To find the available modes, open the camera and click on MORE!

8. Use the PRO MODE of your Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G! In this mode you are able to adjust the camera settings to your liking and play with ISO, Aperture, and Shutter speed. ISO is your sensitivity to light. Keep it at 50 or 100 if you shoot outdoors during daylight. Increase it when you have less natural daylight. The PRO MODE gives you the possibility to shoot in RAW format (format and advanced options in Settings). Shooting in RAW means that it will be much easier to colour grade your images using an editing app like VSCO, Snapseed or Lightroom mobile.

GALAXY S21 Ultra 5G

GALAXY S21 Ultra 5G

Since the beginning of 2021 when Samsung launched the new Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, I was fortunate enough to be amongst the first to own this device. During the past three months, I became familiar with the device and its features. I thought I would share my experiences and let you know which are my favourite features and why you should consider purchasing a Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, if you are in the market for a new smartphone. Let’s now go through the features that make the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G the ultimate smartphone.

3 things I love about the S Pen

1. It turns notes into text with just one tap.

2. The “Smart Select” allows me to select a specific part from any image and save this as a JPG!

3. The S Pen allows for an incredible degree of precision in your work. Especially if you are someone like me who likes to edit photos in the phone, it makes your image editing process quicker and easier.

8K Video SNAP

8K Video Snap lets you grab your favorite moment from an 8K video and convert it into an ultra-high resolution photo. It is particularly useful if you make Instagram Reels, cause you can use the high resolution photo as your cover for the Reel!

A little HOW TO guide for you

Step1: Find an epic location and start filming a video.

Step 2: After filming the 8K video, go to gallery and play the video!

Step 3: Click on the “Snap” icon at the top left to get high resolution photos of scenes you want to save as an image.

SINGLE TAKE

Can’t decide between taking a photo or a video? With the “Single Take” feature of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G you can do both!

The “Single Take” shooting mode lets you shoot several photos and videos simultaneously with JUST ONE CLICK!

A little HOW TO guide for you: Press the shutter button one time and wait from 5 to 15 seconds!

With just one click, you get several options to choose from: Filtered videos, Filtered photos, Speed effect clips, Boomerang, Wide/cropped shots, Highlight videos.

NIGHT MODE

I would describe myself as more like a natural light, day time photographer. I usually don’t take photos after sunset time. The “Advanced Night mode” feature of my Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G made me curious about the outcome, so I found an interesting low-light photo opportunity in my little town and started shooting photos.

You have 4 different lenses to choose from: Ultra wide, wide, Tele 1, Tele 2!

I’ve been pretty impressed by the image quality of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G.

What makes the “Advanced Night mode” feature of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G so amazing are the following characteristics: 12 MP, AI technology, Faster Bright Night sensor and enhanced noise reduction.

DIRECTOR’S VIEW

The “Director’s View” mode allows you to record from both front and back cameras at the same time & choose between three angles without losing any action. What an amazing tool not only for Youtubers, but for anyone who enjoy sharing happy moments with friends and family!

GALAXY S21 Ultra 5G

The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is my main smartphone for 2021. It’s the device I use everyday, therefore most of my photos are taken with this. All the features mentioned in this blog post are really easy and fun to use and you can see me using them if you follow along on Instagram. I can’t wait to bring my Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G to places I’ve never been to before, create iconic photos and film 8K cinematic videos that we all enjoy to watch.

Life with Galaxy

Dear TVG friends, this is the last blog post for 2020. We made it till the end, yay! Let’s do a 2020 throwback, shall we?

We took the two photos above in the main square of the town of Serifos island in Greece. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to spend two weeks in September touring the Greek islands. Some days my schedule was quite busy, some others I was taking the time to relax and recharge my batteries. My Galaxy Z flip has always been there for me on busier days when I was checking the print orders on my new website, editing photos from my last shoots, and in less busier days when I was simply spending quality time with my friends, taking photos of us and laughing.

Life with Galaxy

Life with Galaxy

We took the two photos above in Elafonisos island. I’m not known as a person who hits the gym every day. But one activity I’m happy to do daily is walking. I can seriously walk for hours every day and I enjoy counting my steps while doing so. For counting my steps, I use the Fitness and Health tracker on my Galaxy Watch 3. During holidays, I like to walk on the beach whereas in Vienna, I go walking in the Schönbrunn gardens. Are you a jogger or a walker? Do you prefer exercising indoors or outdoors?

Life with Galaxy

The photo of this beautiful sunset was taken with my Galaxy S20 Ultra in Punta Cana. Every evening, before it got completely dark, I used to walk alone on the beach with my Galaxy S20 Ultra in hand to photograph the sky that turned to pastel hues of dusky rose, dark lilac and pale blue. These are the moments I crave for. All magical colours captured with the camera of my Galaxy S20 Ultra. Who would like to join me on this photo walk?

throwback 2020

throwback 2020

We took these two photos at the end of November in Punta Cana. They both reflect my dream of becoming a digital nomad…working remotely from everywhere on my Galaxy Tab S7, in other words be location independent!

2020 throwback

We took the photo above in the hotel I was staying at during my holidays in Tinos island. The foldable Galaxy Z flip is bold, stylish and pretty unique. It folds in half and provides me with a new angle on the world.

2020 throwback

We took the photo above at Paremi cafe in Vienna. Cafes and restaurants were closed for a long time this year. Therefore, I tried to visit them as often as possible during the periods they were open. In this photo, the Galaxy Z Flip stands out for its unique design and mirror purple color, and is small enough to fit in my small summer bag.

2020 throwback

We took this photo in Vienna city center after I came back from my September holidays. I was so excited for all the things I had in mind to do. My Galaxy Note 20 and the S Pen helped me to keep a track of all these activities and never miss out on a thing! Little did I know in the moment we took this photo that all my plans weren’t going to happen because of a lockdown 2.0.

2020 throwback

Things I love, all in one photo: croissants, a cappuccino, a marble table, my Galaxy buds live and my Galaxy Note 20. We took this photo in Vienna at the end of summer, when it was still warm enough to sit outside.
