Vienna Ball season – I have some great news. First of all, travelling starts over again for TVG (=The Viennese Girl). I am leaving for Italy tomorrow together with Anastacia for one week. This is the first press trip for the year 2017. It is organised by ENIT-Italia. Check out our Instagram channels for daily updates. And the second good news is that Lorin from Canaj Visuals did one more amazing video for The Viennese Girl blog and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did filming it. Thanks to the invitation from the Ball der Wiener Sängerknaben, who gave us the opportunity to attend their Ball and create this beautiful video. It was also an opportunity to get together, talk, laugh, dance and forget all the rest…for a night! What do you think about the choice of the music? Lorin initially had the idea to go for a classical Mozart song, but I thought that we should give to the ball a more young modern touch, and so we went for the song,“Falling”, from Secrets in Stereo. In general, I never thought that The Viennese Girl would ever have videos. But look how things turned out! Unexpectedly good! Fairy tale styling hair was from my all time favourite hair salon B.lounge Vienna, and my pink pastel dress was from Peek&Cloppenburg. Hope you like it and you get the chance to visit a ball during the Vienna Ball season.♥

The Viennese girl presents Christmas in Vienna. – It was a while ago when I talked with Lorin from Canajvisuals.com over a cup of coffee, and asked him to help me create a video that will showcase how magical Vienna is during the Christmas season. This is the first time that I’m doing a video for The Viennese Girl blog, and it is also the first time that I worked with Lorin. I explained to him what exactly I had in my mind and how I wanted the final result to be. It should be magical with a fairy tale feeling. It should be exactly how Christimas in Vienna is, and it should stay true to the philosophy and the style of The Viennese Girl blog. Everything went perfectly. The only problem we faced was the music. We both had in mind two well-known beautiful songs and we knew that one of the two would complement our video beautifully. But it turned out to be impossible to get them because of the super expensive copyright license. We had to find another solution. However, I loved working with Lorin, especially for the reason that he takes my opinion into consideration and we have something in common: we are both perfectionists. We strive for perfection, and we worked hard despite the freezing cold out there to create something that you will love to watch. This is our way of wishing you a Merry Christmas. If you like the video Christmas in Vienna, feel free to leave a comment (because I am so curious to know your thoughts….) ♥
Bucket bag: Le Violette
Model: Darina Korotchenko
Darina had her birthday the day we shot those pictures, and that’s why I brought her a bouquet of red roses. She put them in the Léo et Violette bag and let me take some pictures of her while she held them. It wasn’t the perfect photo shooting day as it was cold and windy, nevertheless, we had a nice stroll around the city center.
I have been looking for a bag like this for a long time now. A bag with a shoulder strap that I can carry from the morning till late night, because I often leave home early in the morning and don’t return home during the day just to change outfit. Elegant and practical at the same time, the bag is perfectly sized, fitting my three essentials, wallet, keys and cell phone, plus sunglasses, a few cosmetics and my photo camera.
You will likely spot me around Vienna holding my new bucket bag, made in Italy ♥
Here I am again, this time with some photos from the last photo shooting I had at Bristol Vienna with my sweet Bettine. A photo shooting at the balcony of Bristol Vienna is something that I had in my mind since last summer and I finally realized it in a warm February day. We were very lucky to find a warm day in the middle of February and it was pretty awesome being in the balcony wearing a ball dress without freezing and knowing that it’s February in Vienna. This was my little project between me and Bettine and special thanks to Bristol Vienna for giving us their rooms….I just want more of those photoshootings in the future, although it was a lot, a lot of work…♥
Suite 17 was the place I spent 2 days last weekend, a beautiful maisonette spread out over two floors connected by an indoor staircase at the Hotel G’Schlössl Murtal in Knittelfeld, Austria.
On Friday evening I took the train from Vienna to Knittelfeld, a small city in the Austrian countryside about 2 hours away by train from Vienna. It’s a place I have never been to before….When I visit a place for the first time, I usually do a lot of sightseeing but this time I decided to have a more relaxed program. So, on Saturday I devoted my time to photography and on Sunday to wellness&spa.
If you ever find yourself in that part of Austria, don’t miss the experience of having dinner at Hotel Steirerschlössl and visit the most magical Christmas market which is next to the Hotel G’Schlössl Murtal. ♥
Recently someone on Instagram thanked me for all the Vienna tips that helped him to get to know Vienna better. I am still surprised by the fact that my initial idea of making my personal Vienna travel guide and chronicle my discoveries ultimately works. The Viennese Girl blog is about two years old and I gladly keep on writing all my Vienna findings and places I visit in this city where I live, so you can visit them too. So here is to one more of those Vienna discoveries:
Lately, a good friend of mine and I had breakfast at Parlor, a living room decorated in black and white with Vitra Accessoires. My friend and I enjoyed the breakfast, taking pictures inside Parlor and the views over Stadtpark from the 12th floor of Intercontinental Lounge. Thanks for the warm welcome, we’ll be back soon! ♥
You can find more info about the Parlor restaurant here.
Those who follow on Instagram have already noticed that I won a travel to Miami with Austrian Airlines. It was about one month ago when I took part in the contest and now here I am, one day before the departure, very excited about this travel over the Atlantic Ocean and ready to discover a place I have never been before.. All the documents are ready but still need to pack my suitcase with the essentials: my bikini and summer dresses!
So, this is just a quick note to say where I am heading to and what kind of photos you should expect for October. The Viennese Girl blog will get some Miami vibes and I will get back to you as soon as possible..♥
During my holidays in Samos I visited Proteas Blu resort. And as I am a sucker for travel photography, it was inevitable to take pictures on my visit to such a dreamy place for The Viennese Girl blog. Everything was so peaceful, so relaxing and purely elegant. Everything was screaming SUMMER and I was totally in my element.
Now back to Vienna, reminiscing about those moments, I look out of the window of my little room in Vienna and there is neither sea nor blue skies on the horizon. But I had a good time in Proteas Blu Resort, it was so fun taking those photos and wish that I will get the chance to get back there soon in the near future. #seayousoon ♥
Back to paradise, in other words, back to this beautiful island called Samos where I come every summer. My direct flight from Vienna to Samos had a delay of about 4 hours because of the strikes at the airport in Greece. I spent more hours waiting in the airport of Vienna than inside the airplane during the flight but I am here, so no complaints. I was supposed to land on the Greek territory at 15.00pm approximately and drive directly to the beach and even wore a bikini under my clothes, but because of the delay, my direct visit to the beach was postponed for the following day.
I had a very warm welcome by friends and family here, even fireworks in the sky. Apparently not for my arrival but for a local festivity in Pythagorion on that day. The day after my arrival we went to Tsamadou beach and spent the whole day there, then we headed to the village next to the beach, Kokkari, where we had an evening stroll before we get back home. On this post I share some photos of Kokkari.
So glad to see them all again, friends and family, and I enjoy my time by doing simple things that I missed so much, like eating cheese pie at 3.00 am in the night and drinking granita by the sea. So glad to be back to paradise and to call this piece of heaven on earth home sweet home.♥
