to Paris with Air France (42)

When the email from the official tourism board of France landed in my inbox, I was as happy as a clam! It felt like my wish to get back to Paris and discover more from France has been heard. I was very excited that this wish was one step closer to reality. So, this is how I found myself in Paris for the fifth time. I spent the first days of July in the city of lights walking around the boulevards, taking pictures of things that I like, meeting interesting people, and catching up with good friends that are living in Paris. Being so familiar with the city and feeling so comfortable with my surroundings was one of the best feelings during my visit this time around. Getting around Paris without using a map gave me the sense of being home, yet there is still the constant mystery of a possible little surprise around any corner. Let’s get into the details and highlight some of the beautiful happenings and encounters during my trip to Paris.

Many thanks to François and his assistant, Margaux, for the warm welcome to Chatelles’s showroom during the first day of my arrival in Paris. Once I stepped into the showroom, I had an immediate crush on their vast collection of slippers that you can see here. It’s worth spreading the words for brands that I like, and that are in line with my style. Chatelles’s showroom is situated in a beautiful neighborhood, just opposite to Musée Rodin. Apart from the slipper collection, I also loved the stairs to the showroom, the decorations, the view from the showroom overlooking Musée Rodin, and the neighborhood…pretty much everything. C’était très romantique.

Having afternoon tea at Le Meurice was like traveling to another world. I have never experienced afternoon tea in Paris before, so it was quite a unique experience. It is something that has been on my list of the things to do while visiting Paris. I made myself comfortable at the restaurant Le Dalí, and I savored delicious treats made by the pastry chef, Cédric Grolet, while admiring the gigantic Ara Starck designed canvas hanging above me. It was an exhilarating culinary experience that I would definitely recommend. If only I could have one small treat right now…

One of the highlights of my trip in Paris was my visit to the Maison Boucheron. I got the chance to photograph and try some of their exquisite pieces, like Nara the Deer ring, which you can see here. It was quite an exciting experience visiting the Maison Boucheron, the first jeweler in Place Vendôme.

All in all, I had the time of my life yet again. Don’t be surprised if you find me in Paris again soon.. pour une balade romantique.♥

Special thanks to Atout France for organizing this press trip, Air France, Loire Valley Tourism and SNCF for making it happen. Stay tuned for the next blog posts from my press trip to France.

This blog post seems to be more current and relevant than anything else because summer is finally here. As the temperature rises, all of us more or less are trying to find a pleasant place to relax on the weekend, or during those precious hours after work. Apart from that, it has also been a while since the last time I revealed a Vienna tip here on The Viennese Girl blog. Ops, wait a minute! Did I say Vienna? I meant to say Bad Vöslau, a spa town only approximately 40minutes away by car from Vienna.

I didn’t know that a place like this, or something similar to it could exist close to Vienna until last week. As you can see from the photos above, I found myself in a green oasis surrounded by big trees, green field and a huge mineral water swimming pool. We had the chance to spend the whole day doing nothing but relax and enjoy our surroundings. Needless to say, I am happy to reveal one more thing to do in your leisure time here on The Viennese Girl blog, just in case you also didn’t know that place yet. On the day we went to Thermalbad Vöslau, the weather couldn’t have been better. We laid on sun loungers, ate ice cream, and it felt like we were on holidays somewhere in Italy. What a beautiful day!

I should not forget to mention the little wooden house, called Milchbar, which is located up on the hill. We had yummy snacks, drunk mango smoothies and chocolate milkshakes, all while enjoying the pretty view. If you visit Thermalbad Vöslau, it’s a good idea to walk around as the thermal bath is huge and spacious. Make sure you also pay a visit to Milchbar. More info about Thermalbad Vöslau here. ♥

With the photos that Margarita took for The Viennese Girl blog, I would like to show you a little part of my University Campus Vienna which is situated in Alsergrund, the 9th district of the city. The University Campus Vienna used to be General Hospital but now is a joyful place, with gardens and bars! Oh and parties, especially when the weather is good!

The imagery we created this time is obviously focused on the big pink tree that blossoms this time of the year. We went to the University Campus Vienna very early in the morning to be sure that no student would be around in order to take a few photos uninterrupted. In the Campus there were me, Margarita and the gardener and it was a great way to start the day. ♥

I feel a little bad about all the radio silence here but I need to finish a thesis for the University of Vienna that has to be ready by the 20th of April. So, apart from the photography love, I am still a student who deals with thesis and deadlines. However, I always try to find a bit of time for a little stroll in the center of Vienna during the day and I promise to myself that I can always study at night. This time Margarita joined me to that little stroll, and as she always carries her photo camera with her, she snapped some photos of me. I thought I should share the photos she took on The Viennese Girl blog to show you how spring looks like in Vienna.

Which is the best time of the year for you? Which is the best season to visit Vienna? I have always wondered how spring is in Sydney, or in Tokyo, or in Singapore… Maybe because I have never been to those places, so I am just a little bit curious, as always! But soon I am going to discover how spring is in Munich

Paris in March would be described: fascinating and surreal.

In comparison to my last year’s visit in Paris, this time I didn’t take many photos of the city. I didn’t visit my favourite Place des Vosges, I didn’t go to Palais Royal, not even to Café Angelina for that famous hot chocolate, called ‘African’. But I met so many lovely Parisian people who brought me to other places, like Boot Cafe and Marlon restaurant. Besides, the main reason of my visit was the Chanel fashion show, so I was more focused on that and on my stay at my Paris perfect Apartment.

So now you know why I didn’t take so many photos of the city, but those few that I took, it would be a pity not to share them on The Viennese Girl blog as they turned out to be so pretty (I hope you find them pretty as well)♥

My Paris perfect apartment was located in the Avenue de La Bourdonnais. Uber left me in front of the door. I stopped for a while and looked up. Having an apartment with a view of the Eiffel Tower wasn’t anymore one more part of my unlimited imagination but it was about to become my daily reality. For a moment, all the apartments I have lived in in the past unfolded in front of my eyes and I caught myself reflecting on “how far I‘ve gone”. I snapped a picture to freeze the moment with a little hope that this moment will last forever. The lift, one of those old ones, brought me to the fifth floor. After I opened the door, it took me some time to realize what is happening. My Chambertin apartment blew me away, from the moment I stepped in till now as I write this post. I called a friend of mine and asked “what’s happening and where all this is going?

The days that followed were as dreamy as my Paris Perfect Aparment: every morning breakfast at the balcony, hot evening baths, encounters with endearing Parisian people, a dazzling Chanel fashion show and in the background a bling bling Eiffel Tower hypnotizing me every night on the Avenue de la Bourdonnais.♥

Here I am again, this time with some photos from the last photo shooting I had at Bristol Vienna with my sweet Bettine. A photo shooting at the balcony of Bristol Vienna is something that I had in my mind since last summer and I finally realized it in a warm February day. We were very lucky to find a warm day in the middle of February and it was pretty awesome being in the balcony wearing a ball dress without freezing and knowing that it’s February in Vienna. This was my little project between me and Bettine and special thanks to Bristol Vienna for giving us their rooms….I just want more of those photoshootings in the future, although it was a lot, a lot of work…♥

When I got the invitation to visit Bad Gastein, I somehow felt like that it was going to be an exciting weekend, and although I had to study for the upcoming exams, I bought a train ticket, packed my luggage with warm clothes and left for the mountains without giving it a second thought. You have probably seen it on my Instagram that I have been to Bad Gastein but on The Viennese Girl blog I publish photos that you cannot find on Instagram.

That weekend in the Alps was extraordinary and magical. As you can tell from the photos, everything was covered by snow and although I was freezing, I was happy to be there, taking pictures of that dreamy landscape! Together with a group of like minded people we roamed around Bad Gastein, took photos, had breakfast at Haus Hirt, dinner at Regina Hotel, took the one-person aerial lift to reach the Bellevue Alm restaurant, rode horse sleigh, and visited the cutest hotel in the world Hansi Hansi. Those were my favourite moments from that weekend in the Alps.

During my return trip to Vienna I was thinking that Bad Gastein must be beautiful throughout the whole year. All green during spring and summer and all white during winter. I was also thinking of that room in the corner, where I spent one night, that had view of the snow covered mountains and the valley….that loft room in “Tessa”…♥

The Viennese Girl 2016 Calendar

In collaboration with The Bee Design Studio

As we come to the end of the year, I have a little Xmas present for you. The Bee design studio created a 2016 calendar for The Viennese Girl blog using my Vienna photos. I am so happy to be able to offer this 2016 Calendar to you as a token of appreciation for the love and support you showed me throughout this year.

It’s weird for me (weird in a nice way) to see my photos being part of something else, in this case, a calendar, and for that I am grateful to Laura from The Bee Design Studio who had this idea and made it happen. I suggest you have a look at her website for lovely inspirational graphic design.
