We were in the mood for autumn and our wish was to visit a park to see and take pictures of the falling leaves that have yellow, red, and gold colors.

But, as usual, we didn’t know to which park we should go. After a long discussion, we headed to Türkenschanzpark (difficult to say that word) influenced by the opinion of a friend of mine (who by the way makes her way to India today…..so jealous…safe travels I wish to her) told me that she finds Türkenschanzpark in Vienna more beautiful than Schönbrunn gardens. Really? What do you think?

Unfortunately we arrived a bit late and it started getting dark, but I promise I’ll go back soon and take more pictures.

Escape the city

When my friend said that we will go to the village Rust to see the storks, I had no idea what she was talking about. With the spirit of “escape the city, get away from all the stress, embrace the summer, do something different” we arrived to a very beautiful village and to my surprise we saw so many gardens with beautiful flowers, chimneys with nests and storks on them. This is what I like when I visit a place for the very first time. You don’t know what to expect and it can surprise you pleasantly. We sat on a traditional wine tavern and we ate some delicious Eismarillen knödel from Tichy and then we milled around to capture the beauty that was surrounding us. Amazing escape from the city.

Rust is in Burgenland located on the Western shore of Lake Neusiedl.
The photos of this post describe the spirit of The Viennese Girl. Happy and carefree in a peaceful place full of colors.♥

Visit Esterházy Palace

Visit Esterházy Palace – The other day I had the opportunity to visit Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt. A baroque palace that offers a wine museum, gift shop, guided tours, and concerts. Last week I had the chance to visit the Esterházy Palace but I know that I would like to see and learn more about the Austrian countryside. An Asian proverb says “It’s better to see something once than to hear about it a thousand times”. I totally agree.

Hope you all have a nice day!

Before sunset

Have you ever been to Podersdorf am See? Well, it’s not the place that I liked so much but the lighthouse, the lake, the pier, but above all…. the sunset. After work, take your significant other and drive to Podersdorf am See, sit on the pier and enjoy the sunset…just the two of you! Doesn’t it sound nice? It doesn’t only sound nice. It is!!!

Podersdorf am See is on the shore of the Neusiedler See, not far away from Vienna and close to Hungary. After that, go to Mole West for a drink.

Schoenbrunn gardens

Schoenbrunn gardens

Whenever I go for a stroll in a Viennese garden and, to be more specific, to Schoenbrunn gardens, I have a neighbor who keeps telling me, “stop doing all the touristic things, you have been living in Vienna for three years and there are many other things to discover and places to go.” So, according to my friend, visitors of Schoenbrunn are mostly tourists and I guess locals who live close by. Schoenbrunn palace to Vienna is like Versailles to Paris: the most popular sight in Vienna. It’s huge, magical, and ideal for taking some pictures with my friend Elena.
