Life with Galaxy

Dear TVG friends, this is the last blog post for 2020. We made it till the end, yay! Let’s do a 2020 throwback, shall we?

We took the two photos above in the main square of the town of Serifos island in Greece. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to spend two weeks in September touring the Greek islands. Some days my schedule was quite busy, some others I was taking the time to relax and recharge my batteries. My Galaxy Z flip has always been there for me on busier days when I was checking the print orders on my new website, editing photos from my last shoots, and in less busier days when I was simply spending quality time with my friends, taking photos of us and laughing.

Life with Galaxy

We took the two photos above in Elafonisos island. I’m not known as a person who hits the gym every day. But one activity I’m happy to do daily is walking. I can seriously walk for hours every day and I enjoy counting my steps while doing so. For counting my steps, I use the Fitness and Health tracker on my Galaxy Watch 3. During holidays, I like to walk on the beach whereas in Vienna, I go walking in the Schönbrunn gardens. Are you a jogger or a walker? Do you prefer exercising indoors or outdoors?

Life with Galaxy

The photo of this beautiful sunset was taken with my Galaxy S20 Ultra in Punta Cana. Every evening, before it got completely dark, I used to walk alone on the beach with my Galaxy S20 Ultra in hand to photograph the sky that turned to pastel hues of dusky rose, dark lilac and pale blue. These are the moments I crave for. All magical colours captured with the camera of my Galaxy S20 Ultra. Who would like to join me on this photo walk?

We took these two photos at the end of November in Punta Cana. They both reflect my dream of becoming a digital nomad…working remotely from everywhere on my Galaxy Tab S7, in other words be location independent!

2020 throwback

We took the photo above in the hotel I was staying at during my holidays in Tinos island. The foldable Galaxy Z flip is bold, stylish and pretty unique. It folds in half and provides me with a new angle on the world.

2020 throwback

We took the photo above at Paremi cafe in Vienna. Cafes and restaurants were closed for a long time this year. Therefore, I tried to visit them as often as possible during the periods they were open. In this photo, the Galaxy Z Flip stands out for its unique design and mirror purple color, and is small enough to fit in my small summer bag.

2020 throwback

We took this photo in Vienna city center after I came back from my September holidays. I was so excited for all the things I had in mind to do. My Galaxy Note 20 and the S Pen helped me to keep a track of all these activities and never miss out on a thing! Little did I know in the moment we took this photo that all my plans weren’t going to happen because of a lockdown 2.0.

2020 throwback

Things I love, all in one photo: croissants, a cappuccino, a marble table, my Galaxy buds live and my Galaxy Note 20. We took this photo in Vienna at the end of summer, when it was still warm enough to sit outside.

Galaxy Tab S7

Last year I published a blog post for the Galaxy Tab S6: when I use it and why. You can check it out here.

A lot has changed since last year.

I upgraded to the Galaxy Tab S7 which is now the newest tablet from Samsung. And of course, as we all know, this year everything has become a little bit more digital. It’s a year where we have been urged to stay at home, spend more time at home, and work from home. Our real life social interactions have been reduced and we all spent a little bit more time in front of our screens. People now use technology as a bridge across physical distances and are experimenting with new kinds of socially distanced gatherings such as virtual dinner parties, virtual yoga classes etc.

As a result, the Galaxy Tab S7 has become my life-saver this year. And because it’s the device that I use the most, as Anna and I were brainstorming at the beginning of November, we came up with the idea to make the video that you see in this blog post.

The Galaxy Tab S7 comes in two different sizes, the Galaxy Tab S7 (11-inch) and the Galaxy Tab S7+ (12.4-inch) and in three amazing colors: mystic bronze, mystic silver, mystic black.

What I love about the tablet in general is the diversity of use you can get from them. Some people use their tablets as their everyday laptop. Some people use them just for watching media. Some people use them for drawing and making notes with the S Pen.

There are so many things you can be doing with the newest tablet from Samsung. Given the current global situation and the tablet’s multifunctionality, turns out, this tablet is not luxury, but a necessity.

Hello 2020

Hello 2020

Hello 2020. I’d like to welcome the new year/decade with writing down my New Year’s intentions.
But before I begin with the New Year’s resolutions, I’d like to say a few words about the photos that you see in this blog post.

Hello 2020
Hello 2020

We took these photos during our stay at Pures Leben chalet. In these photos you will bearly notice any hint of makeup on my face. It’s because I didn’t bring to the chalet any beauty product with me. Instead, I brought my Samsung gear: my Galaxy S10+ mobile phone, my Galaxy Tab S6, my Galaxy Buds, my Galaxy Watch Active2, all necessary gadgets for my work life. I went to the chalet with two things in mind: to relax, but also to work!

During the days we were there, I was working on a photography project that was quite demanding, so I was happy to be in a peaceful place like this and have all the time I needed to focus on it. I am sharing these photos and info, not only because I think they are worth sharing : ) but also to give you an understanding of my workflow and a “little behind the scenes” of my work/personal life (these two always go together).

Hello 2020

So, here are my 2020 intentions:

Keep my home and my business in Vienna

I believe that you can’t have/maintain an online business if you don’t have the best gadgets of the market. You just can’t. I have come to this realization for a long time already and I have heard also other fellow online business owners saying the same. But I’ve also seen people who love to create content and consciously choose to use bad quality gadgets…I could never understand that but it’s their business, not mine!

The Viennese Girl Vienna travel blog photography

Strive for perfection, when it comes to work and projects

But remember to not burn yourself out and take a few breaks now and then! I found out that long walks in the Schönbrunn gardens unwinds me, especially during the warm months in Vienna. What come in handy here is my Galaxy Watch Active2. I developed a habit the past few months to count my steps. If you want to know more, go to my Instagram channel, and check the “Eat healthy” on the highlights section.

Travel outside Europe

When traveling, it’s important to me to take two mobile devices with me. Have you ever thought about traveling with two mobile devices? I always have that kind of fear that the mobile I have with me may be lost or stolen. To beat this stressful feeling, I leave my Galaxy Note 10 mobile phone at the hotel, and I take with me my primary mobile phone, the Samsung Galaxy S10+.

Long flights used to be exciting to me in the past. But after I have crossed the Atlantic ocean more than 6 times, long flights are not exciting anymore. To beat the boredom during the flight, I try to keep myself entertained by listening to music using my Galaxy Buds and draw mandalas on my Galaxy Tab S6.

Learn new content creation skills

That is exciting! But it also means a lot more data. Where do I save all the content I create? Here I count on my Samsung Portable SSD T5 (not pictured), that is truly easy to carry and stores data securely.

New Year’s resolutions

Take time to read psychology books

My favourite place to read a book is my bed or sofa on my Galaxy Tab S6 tablet. I can’t read books when traveling, because unfortunately when I read and I am in a vehicle that is moving, I get dizzy. Now, the truth is that I am spending way too much time on editing photos. So, maybe I should find balance on that and plan my time better between editing photos and reading books. I can, for instance, edit photos from Monday to Friday, and read books in the weekend.

Samsung Galaxy Ecosystem

Sleep long, sleep well, sleep deep

And here is when my Galaxy Watch Active2 comes in handy. In a recent “Sleep In” Samsung event that took place in Vienna I had the chance to learn about tips on how to sleep better at night, which food and drink promote a Good night’s sleep and ultimately, which tools of Samsung’s Galaxy intuitive ecosystem promote a good night’s sleep. By activating the “goodnight mode” on my Galaxy Watch Active2, I can track my beauty sleep. The next morning the Galaxy Watch Active2 provide me insights that help me to identify my behaviour patterns and eventually improve my sleep, by paying attention to these data.

New Year’s resolutions

I’d love to know your New Year’s intetions! Happy New Year to everyone!

Travel with Galaxy

Last month I was given the chance to visit Bucharest. A city I’ve never been to before, a city that has been on my bucket list for a long time. An invitation by @samsungaustria to visit Bucharest felt like a good reason to finally go.

Travel with Galaxy

Day 1:
@samsungaustria had organised a 2 day program full of exciting activities. On the first day, we kicked off the experience with a #GalaxyS10+ product briefing that took place in Carturesti Carusel, one of the most iconic (and instagrammable) bookstores in the world! As always, Samsung knows how to choose event locations!

Travel with Galaxy

Later on, we drove to Labyrinthe Paris, a creative space in Bucharest. There we attended the workshop “How to style a fashion shoot” directed by fashion stylist Lucy Faur. Lucy Faur showed us a few outfits and explained the reasons why she chose those pieces and all the thought processes that go behind them. Afterwards, we were given the opportunity to pick the outfit that we liked the most and get photographed with our Galaxy S10+ devices. Here I found out about an interesting product feature, that is called Shot suggestions. If you are not good at finding the right composition, you can let your Samsung Galaxy S10+ find the best shot for you. Easy, peasy and fun!

The day ended with a fine dining experience at the loft of the restaurant Maize.

Day 2:
@samsungaustria took us on a garden party at Société Gourmet, where we had the chance to attend a food styling workshop, with the stunning food photographer Adina Chitu. Our task during the workshop was first to cook and photograph the dishes afterwards. During the food photography workshop, what I found very helpful was the Live focus camera feature. The camera focus on the object in the front and offer you a blurred background. You can decide how strong the effect will be by dragging up and down the Blur slider.

We spent quite a big part of the day in this charming Bucharest house and enjoyed the beautiful outdoor space, warm rays of sun and good food!

Afterwards, we discovered the city from a completely different perspective through a city tour on a vintage tram that gave us a glimpse of how was everyday life in the Communist era.  Day 2 ended at a stunning bar restaurant right by the side of the lake.

Day 3:
Although we knew that it would rain, we didn’t want to stay in the hotel. It was our free day with a late flight in the evening. We ventured out and ended up drinking tasty matcha lattes with coconut flavour in Bucharest’s cutest Matcha Bar.

During those 3 days in Bucharest, not only did I have the chance to see Bucharest and visit some of it’s impressive buildings, such as The Palace of the Parliament, but also to learn about the endless creative possibilities of the Samsung Galaxy S10+ camera. For a person like me who is passionate about photography, it was a blast to gain exposure to so many different activities where we got the opportunity, not only to take photos, but also to create collages, GIFs and movies.

For those who would like to see more, I have shared a few Instagram stories on Instagram. You can find them in the highlight sections under the title “6th trip 2019”. And those who would like to visit the Little Paris, @samsungaustria put up a few travel tips together to help you get the best of Bucharest.

So far, I’ve traveled with @samsungaustria to quite a few places around the world: Paris, London, NYC, Ibiza, San Francisco and now Bucharest. We love creating thousands of unforgettable #samsunggalaxy moments around the world together and through all these travels, my Galaxy S10+ has turned out to be my favourite travel companion.

Ibiza

Ibiza

An invitation by Samsung Austria to attend the „Golden Hour“ Photography Masterclass brought me to Ibiza, a place I’ve never visited before, at the beginning of July. The Photography Masterclass was directed by Uli Weber, a German photographer best known for his celebrity portraits.

Ibiza is, as we all know, a place related to night life and parties that last all night long. But we were not there for that reason. The goal of the workshop was to shoot the sunset with the Samsung Galaxy S9 plus phone and test the phone camera in low light conditions. July could not have gotten off to a better start…

On Monday night, I arrived quite late on the island. After traveling all day with a layover in Rome, there was not much left to do than go to bed immediately. My first impressions of the island at that moment were my huge, colourful hotel room and a fancy swimming pool visible from my balcony. All were hints to how much fun the next day would be.

Ibiza

The next day, right after breakfast, we went on a jeep safari tour together with the Samsung Switzerland team. Mariano and Niko, our guides and drivers, made sure to show us around the non-touristy parts of Ibiza. We mostly drove around the west coast. We saw the island from above and swam in the turquoise waters of Cala Tarida beach. Later on, we headed back to the hotel for lunch, before we arrived at the Cotton Fitness Club for the Masterclass.

Ibiza

The second day I had a free day to spend on my own, and I decided to use it by heading to Ibiza Old town. Initially I went for a little shopping because it was too hot to walk around. Later on, I walked up to the castle to enjoy a panoramic view of the city, and then down through the little streets in the old town.

Ibiza

Unfortunately, I don’t have Ibiza tips to share with you, as I was there for just three nights (2 full days). The only thing I would recommend is to avoid the area of Sant Antoni, if you are not that into partying. I am sure Ibiza offers more than that alone.

It was a short yet nice stay in Ibiza. Many thanks to Samsung Austria for one more amazing trip. We love making #withgalaxy thousands of unforgettable moments around the world together.
