New friend

New friendI have a new friend and this blog post is exactly dedicated to her. Ria is a pastry chef based in Chania. For the moment, she is my private cook in Chania, but you can book her too during your holidays.

The first time I met her, she brought to me a traditional Greek sesame seed bread ring. The second time we met, she brought me a crunchy chocolate hazelnut spread.

As time went by, we developed our own code of communication which goes down to this agreement: she cook, I photograph!

So, the third time she visited me, she made the best Cretan brunch which was consisted of: staka dip with eggs, brioche with poached eggs and avocado, and bruschette.

The fourth time she visited me, she cooked squid ink tagliatelle with shrimp, ouzo and tomato sauce. For dessert we had a traditional Greek Halva, that one that you see in the photo above.

My new friend and her delicious recipes do good to my soul and mind..but whether I can say the same for my body figure…I am not sure!

Hello from Chania

Hello from Chania Crete

Hello from Chania! I had to get away for my own mental well-being and sanity! I think I made the best decision to come and stay in Chania for a while! It feels so good to be here! This is the view from the balcony of the apartment that I am staying at! I will reveal the name of the apartment at the end of my stay on Instagram, so that you can rent it too!

Hello from Chania – A Personal Travel Story

Chania has always been on my list of places to visit. This Greek city on the southern shore of Crete has long been known as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece and many consider it to be the prettiest city in Crete. After finally making it there myself, I can confirm that there’s plenty to see and do in Chania, whether you’re traveling solo or with your partner or family.
