I usually don’t hang out around the University of Vienna during the summer months but my visit this time was due to the instawalk that Igers Austria organized in cooperation with the University of Vienna. The idea of visiting areas where usually students don’t have access to like the rooftop had lead me to decide to join that little group of approximately 10 people last Thursday. I am also studying at the University of Vienna and, what a coincidence, that day I received my enrollment sticker for the next semester.
By the way, now that we are talking about the University of Vienna, I remember that last summer was awful. I had to write two small theses during the summer. That was very unpleasant. But this summer I am very grateful that I have no thesis to write and can enjoy carefree my summer holidays that begin in a few days from now…with that being said, my blog finally will get a bit more summery the following weeks!!
To my surprise, one of the photos I took during the instawalk and posted later on Instagram, has at the moment more than 2.600 likes. That is a lot. Thank you, guys! Not much left to say, I only know that I have to keep on working more and I am determined to do so, even when I have to write thesis at the same time…♥
Where do you like to have your morning coffee in the city, if not at home?
Not far away from where I live, there is a cafe called Kaffee von Sascha, which is run by an adorable couple from Ukraine. Kaffee von Sascha is not like the other cafes in Vienna. Sascha is passionate about making coffee for his guests while Nina makes the T-shirts that you will see hanging on the wall and they are both proud and happy to run a concept store that combines coffee&fashion. Although I went there alone, I felt very welcomed and comfortable while chatting with both of them in a warm summer day, and for that reason, I took some pictures to share with you on The Viennese Girl blog.
I left the Kaffee von Sascha with a T-shirt that portrays a cute dog and really can’t wait to wear it in my summer holidays in Greece. Don’t forget to visit them if you are in Vienna. I personally loved the table next to window and not only their coffee, but also their strawberry smoothie and all the other delicacies they treated me.♥
Instagrammers in Austria organize many instameets and instawalks now and then and one of those was the Instameet that took place today at Hotel Imperial. I would say that this was an imperial instameet, not just a simple one. We gathered around 10.00 and had breakfast. My friend Greg (who btw has origins from Greece and has great Instagram photos) gave a speech and talked about storytelling and its importance in today’s business. After that, Marie Kreuzer, who is the Sales& Social Media Manager of Starwood Hotels in Vienna, gave us a small tour inside the hotel and showed us the suite where once Madonna and Michael Jackson stayed during their stay in Vienna.
I took some pictures of the interior with my photo camera and one picture with my Samsung Galaxy S6 for my Instagram account which you can find here.
In general, joining an instameet in your city – whichever it might be – is a nice opportunity to make new friends, especially if you are new in town. The only condition is that you have to love taking pictures and being a creative spirit in order to be a good match.
I left with a piece of the Imperial cake and with the hope that I am going to win the champagne brunch in a raffle. The winner will be announced in about two weeks. Wish me luck, wish me luck…because I don’t drink alcohol but I love champagne.♥
I have always been an admirer of Chanel masterpieces and an invitation to explore the new Chanel boutique in Vienna together with some other editors and journalists one day before the official opening was beyond my imaginations.
On the 8th July, the meeting started with breakfast at Julius Meinl am Graben. Later on, the Chanel staff welcomed us in the boutique with champagne and macaroon and showed us around the entire store. I was totally in my element. Clothing, jewellery, a double C monogram everywhere, the newest creations of Karl Lagerfeld and an interior design inspired by the apartment of Chanel in Paris, on Rue Cambon 31.
Instead of making myself comfortable on the tweed-sofa, flipping through Gabrielle’s Chanel book, eating macarons and sipping champagne, I grabbed my photo camera, started taking pictures and thoroughly immersed myself into the elegant universe of Mademoiselle Chanel. I loved each and every moment spent inside there, although I felt a bit overwhelmed at the beginning, because I didn’t know exactly from where to start taking photos and needed a few minutes to get familiar with the new environment.
I am glad that I am able to give you a sneak peek into the Chanel boutique through my photos on The Viennese girl blog but I also highly recommend you to visit the new Chanel boutique (and the old one) by yourself, if you are in Vienna or you plan to visit Vienna, so that you can discover what I had the chance to discover. And if you are really into the history of fashion, I suggest you to watch some videos that tell the story of a legend, which I personally found very interesting.
I left the Chanel boutique with a small yet fine press gift, feeling inspired and reflecting on three things: first, on my personal style. Second, on the ballerinas shoes that I have been coveting for so long and finally must treat myself as the next Christmas gift, and last but not least, I was thinking one more time that the world is full of endless of possibilities and beautiful things that I just cannot stop discovering.♥

May gives me many ups and downs but I shouldn’t complain, especially when I think that 3 magazines in Austria mentioned The Viennese Girl blog and I am glad that Trendsylvania is one of those. A style catalogue and fashion design magazine that you can find free of charge at the Humanic Stores in Vienna.
We teamed up with Trendsylvania and offer you a survival kit made up of summer clothing essentials. A little photo of me and a description of my blog are also included in the article. If you go to a Humanic store, look for the Trendsylvania magazine and me! I hope you are going to like it and that you are going to find your own summer essentials. Ahhh, I am looking forward to relaxing summer days and nights somewhere in the Aegean, in one of the Greek islands of course…♥
