Vienna coffee houses: Balthasar

If you’d like to have an excellent coffee in a stylish café, Balthasar is the place for you. Its spacious, minimalist interior offers five round tables at the windows, at which one can work or chat unbothered by the other guests. When they’re taken, no need to worry – there are still seats at the communal tables! And in the summer you can also sit outside or order a take-away coffee and go for a walk at the nearby Danube Canal. Don’t forget to try their pastries, though. They are finger-licking good!

Vienna coffee houses: Supersense

Supersense was opened as a small café in an analog concept store and has been expanding ever since. No wonder, as it stuns its visitors from the very moment they open the velvet curtain at the entrance. High ceilings with golden, floral ornaments and huge palace windows remind of the old times while the interior design is a mixture of the last few decades and the most modern style. It’s easy to notice the love to detail, especially when it comes to coffee – it’s served on a wooden plate, accompanied by a glass of water with a colorful bottom. For the hungry ones, there’s also a selection of breakfast and lunch options. Supersense’s atmosphere is truly exceptional and should be on any coffee lover’s list.

Vienna coffee houses: Burggasse 24

If there’s any ultimate Neubau place, it’s Burggasse 24. Every piece of furniture in this cozy café in the back of a second-hand shop is different, yet goes well with its artsy vibe and laid-back atmosphere. Here, you can sit on one of the colorful couches or chairs, sip on a great cup of coffee and look at the fireplace; or at yourself, as there are mirrors on every wall. The omnipresent abundance of plants completes the picture. Apart from coffee, breakfast and drinks are served. A true hygge experience in Vienna

Unpacked 2020

Unpacked 2020

I’m happy to share that like last year, Samsung Austria once again invited me to their Unpacked 2020 event in San Francisco. This year, the UNPACKED 2020 event took place in a venue located right next to the Palace of Fine Arts, one of my favourite spots in Frisco. During the event, Samsung presented their new innovative devices such as the Galaxy Z flip, the Galaxy S20, and the Galaxy Buds+ etc.

Unpacked 2020

Since I have been a long time Galaxy fan, I feel lucky for being one of the early participants who got to see first hand, Samsung’s new devices that will change the shape of the future. If you wish to have a look at the Unpacked 2020 Event, you can watch it here.

Unpacked 2020

After the Unpacked Event, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Media Noche. Then we all headed to the Galaxy Creators Lounge. Samsung set up a creative space with several photography booths that gave us the opportunity to create photos using the new Samsung devices. That was a lot of fun, I have to say. We spent several hours in the Galaxy Creators Lounge and then went for dinner at a sushi place.

Both events were held during the first day of my trip in San Francisco. We had two more days to explore the city, walk around, visit cute cafes and restaurants and of course, take pictures and test the camera of the Galaxy S20.

The photos that you see in this blog post were taken by the talented, San Francisco based, Viceth Vong. He was invited by Samsung to join us for a photo walk and to show us his favorite spots in the city. Of course we had the master himself take a few pics of us while we were testing the camera of the Galaxy S20 and the camera of the Galaxy Z flip. If you wish to have a look at the photos that we took with the S20, please click here.

Now, if you’d like my honest opinion on both of these mobile devices, I’d be glad to tell you. I think that the Galaxy Z flip is a statement smartphone, a smartphone that will catch everyone’s attention. It’s a playful premium device with a smooth, sleek and symmetrical design. However, if I am out there in the market, looking for a high resolution mobile camera that will perform at its best under every condition, then I’d go for the Galaxy S20.

If you’d like to get an exclusive Galaxy S20 pre-order offer, please click here. This offer is valid is valid until the 8th of March.

Orloff resort Spetses

Orloff resort Spetses

Orloff Resort in Spetses. A very much anticipated photo story of a very beautiful hotel in a very beautiful island. I wanted to get my hands on these photos since last October and never had the time. And before I set off on the new adventures for 2020, I had to make sure that I will have published the photos that you see in this blog post on The Viennese Girl blog.

interior design photography

Last September I had the chance to visit Spetses for the first time. Spetses was the last stop of my Greek island hopping. I couldn’t have found a better place to end last summer’s island hopping. It was a solo trip dedicated to my passions: photography, interior design, and the island life.

However, I did one mistake. I packed my suitcase very quickly and at the very last minute.  As a consequence, I forgot to take my bikini with me. Someone on the island told me to buy a new one. But in fact, I bought already 2 new swimsuits last summer. One more would be too much for me to buy. I simply wish I had my swimsuit with me, so that I could have spent a few hours in the pool of the hotel and take a dip.

Orloff resort Spetses

I consider myself lucky for having visited Orloff resort. The hotel arranged for me a lovely room that had a balcony with a view. Since this is a resort hotel, and NOT a mass hotel, it gave me the privacy and the exclusivity that I am generally looking for. If you are heading to Spetses island, I can only recommend you to check out Orloff resort.

Barcelona

Barcelona photos travel guide

Barcelona. December 2019. Last trip for 2019.

Barcelona photos

Barcelona photos travel guide
Barcelona

There is this well known song from Fredie Mercury that goes like this: It was the first time that we met, Barcelona, how can I forget, the moment that you stepped into the room, you took my breath away.

That was not exactly what I felt with Barcelona though. Yes, I did like the city, but it didn’t take my breath away. What I found breathtaking, or rather mind-blowing, was the warm temperature during December. Think of that: one day, I left the hotel without taking my jacket with me. Coming from a cold city, that is mind-blowing!

We spent 5 nights in Barcelona. I personally didn’t want to go for less. It’s a big city, there are so many things to see. I wanted to enjoy it, not to run from one historical momument to another. But we had to spend the first two days in the hotel, as I explained in another blog post. To find out why we spent the first two days in the hotel, go check the blog post. With that being said, we actually had 3 days to explore.

Here is a list of places that you may want to include in your own Barcelona guide plan

Park Güel, MUHBA – Turó de la Rovira, Picasso museum, Casa Batlló, Casa Milà, terraza del Hotel Colon, Arc De Triomf, Barcelona cathedral, Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, mural del beso, Plaça Reial, Mercat de la boqueria

Barcelona Spain

3 things I enjoyed most in Barcelona

1.The boating lake at Park de la ciutadella (Ciutadella Park)
2.This cute italian restaurant called Meneghina
3.The 30 minutes tuk tuk ride that took us from the old historical centre, through the seaside neighborhood of La Barceloneta, to our hotel.

On a more personal note…The older I get, the more I realize how important privacy and exclusivity are to me. So much so, that in general I don’t like visiting crowded places. When it comes to traveling, I prefer to visit places during off season. To be more precise and to avoid misunderstandings, I don’t have anything against crowded places. What I don’t like is having to take photos in crowded places. And that was Park Güell for me. A beautiful place, but when it comes to photography, it was pain in the ass haha. I enjoyed more a cute cafe that we found accidentally than overwcrodwed Sagrada familia. Of course, Sagrada familia was on our plan to visit too. But I tend to appreciate more authentic Barcelona moments, rathen than running after all the historical monuments and struggle to photograph them : )

Hello 2020

Hello 2020

Hello 2020. I’d like to welcome the new year/decade with writing down my New Year’s intentions.
But before I begin with the New Year’s resolutions, I’d like to say a few words about the photos that you see in this blog post.

Hello 2020
Hello 2020

We took these photos during our stay at Pures Leben chalet. In these photos you will bearly notice any hint of makeup on my face. It’s because I didn’t bring to the chalet any beauty product with me. Instead, I brought my Samsung gear: my Galaxy S10+ mobile phone, my Galaxy Tab S6, my Galaxy Buds, my Galaxy Watch Active2, all necessary gadgets for my work life. I went to the chalet with two things in mind: to relax, but also to work!

During the days we were there, I was working on a photography project that was quite demanding, so I was happy to be in a peaceful place like this and have all the time I needed to focus on it. I am sharing these photos and info, not only because I think they are worth sharing : ) but also to give you an understanding of my workflow and a “little behind the scenes” of my work/personal life (these two always go together).

Hello 2020

So, here are my 2020 intentions:

Keep my home and my business in Vienna

I believe that you can’t have/maintain an online business if you don’t have the best gadgets of the market. You just can’t. I have come to this realization for a long time already and I have heard also other fellow online business owners saying the same. But I’ve also seen people who love to create content and consciously choose to use bad quality gadgets…I could never understand that but it’s their business, not mine!

The Viennese Girl Vienna travel blog photography

Strive for perfection, when it comes to work and projects

But remember to not burn yourself out and take a few breaks now and then! I found out that long walks in the Schönbrunn gardens unwinds me, especially during the warm months in Vienna. What come in handy here is my Galaxy Watch Active2. I developed a habit the past few months to count my steps. If you want to know more, go to my Instagram channel, and check the “Eat healthy” on the highlights section.

Travel outside Europe

When traveling, it’s important to me to take two mobile devices with me. Have you ever thought about traveling with two mobile devices? I always have that kind of fear that the mobile I have with me may be lost or stolen. To beat this stressful feeling, I leave my Galaxy Note 10 mobile phone at the hotel, and I take with me my primary mobile phone, the Samsung Galaxy S10+.

Long flights used to be exciting to me in the past. But after I have crossed the Atlantic ocean more than 6 times, long flights are not exciting anymore. To beat the boredom during the flight, I try to keep myself entertained by listening to music using my Galaxy Buds and draw mandalas on my Galaxy Tab S6.

Samsung Galaxy Ecosystem

Learn new content creation skills

That is exciting! But it also means a lot more data. Where do I save all the content I create? Here I count on my Samsung Portable SSD T5 (not pictured), that is truly easy to carry and stores data securely.

New Year’s resolutions

Take time to read psychology books

My favourite place to read a book is my bed or sofa on my Galaxy Tab S6 tablet. I can’t read books when traveling, because unfortunately when I read and I am in a vehicle that is moving, I get dizzy. Now, the truth is that I am spending way too much time on editing photos. So, maybe I should find balance on that and plan my time better between editing photos and reading books. I can, for instance, edit photos from Monday to Friday, and read books in the weekend.

Samsung Galaxy Ecosystem

Sleep long, sleep well, sleep deep

And here is when my Galaxy Watch Active2 comes in handy. In a recent “Sleep In” Samsung event that took place in Vienna I had the chance to learn about tips on how to sleep better at night, which food and drink promote a Good night’s sleep and ultimately, which tools of Samsung’s Galaxy intuitive ecosystem promote a good night’s sleep. By activating the “goodnight mode” on my Galaxy Watch Active2, I can track my beauty sleep. The next morning the Galaxy Watch Active2 provide me insights that help me to identify my behaviour patterns and eventually improve my sleep, by paying attention to these data.

New Year’s resolutions

I’d love to know your New Year’s intetions! Happy New Year to everyone!
