Game changer

Game changer

I’ve been using the Galaxy Tab S6 for the last few months and I thought I should write down a few thoughts about it and share them with my community, or anyone interested to know more about WHEN I use it and WHY the Galaxy Tab S6 has proved to me to be a game changer to my life.

Game changer

In cafes

I simply put it in my handbag to use in cafes, where I can write down my musings and keep track of everything that is important to an always on the go person like myself, both in my personal and professional life. The long battery life ensures that I can get several hours of work done before I need to plug it in again, which as we all know, finding a place to plug in is not always that easy.

Game changer

In business meetings

I take my Galaxy Tab S6 with me in business meetings to show potential customers my photography work. Everything looks much better in the 10.5-inch display of the S6 and of course the images are bigger and easier to see. I love the fact that we can use our fingers and easily navigate from a page to another page because the display is touch screen.

Game changer

      Sundays at home

Sundays at home watching movies on Netflix, documentaries and YouTube videos, are particularly enjoyable with the S6, as this screen and its resolution and color depth is really a treat to look at. And what to say about the sound quality! The Galaxy Tab S6 has four AKG speakers with Dolby Atmos technology (3D sound) which enables excellent sound quality in the size of a tablet.

My favourite documentary topics? Psychology, environment, and nutrition : )

When traveling

I prefer to take my tablet with me on all my travels, instead of my home office laptop. I love it that it’s small enough to not disturb the people around me especially during flights, yet big enough for me to work comfortably. I enjoy editing my photos and videos with the use of the S Pen, that magnetically attaches to the back of my tablet  when I don’t use it and charge as soon as it is attached. Besides, 420 Grams is double less heavy compared to the 1.37 kg of my home office laptop, considering they both more or less do the same thing. Turns out, my Galaxy Tab S6 is the ultimate travel companion, due mainly to its size and extreme light weight.

The tablet has proven to be so perfect for all the above mentioned needs and purposes. I like to call my Galaxy Tab S6 a Game Changer because from the moment I received it, it has changed my blogging and creative life and has improved it in a significant way. I honestly thoroughly recommend the Galaxy Tab S6 for anyone looking for a brilliant, extremely light weight laptop that’ll slip into a handbag!

Travel with Galaxy

Travel with Galaxy

Last month I was given the chance to visit Bucharest. A city I’ve never been to before, a city that has been on my bucket list for a long time. An invitation by @samsungaustria to visit Bucharest felt like a good reason to finally go.

Travel with Galaxy

Day 1:
@samsungaustria had organised a 2 day program full of exciting activities. On the first day, we kicked off the experience with a #GalaxyS10+ product briefing that took place in Carturesti Carusel, one of the most iconic (and instagrammable) bookstores in the world! As always, Samsung knows how to choose event locations!

Travel with Galaxy

Later on, we drove to Labyrinthe Paris, a creative space in Bucharest. There we attended the workshop “How to style a fashion shoot” directed by fashion stylist Lucy Faur. Lucy Faur showed us a few outfits and explained the reasons why she chose those pieces and all the thought processes that go behind them. Afterwards, we were given the opportunity to pick the outfit that we liked the most and get photographed with our Galaxy S10+ devices. Here I found out about an interesting product feature, that is called Shot suggestions. If you are not good at finding the right composition, you can let your Samsung Galaxy S10+ find the best shot for you. Easy, peasy and fun!

The day ended with a fine dining experience at the loft of the restaurant Maize.

Day 2:
@samsungaustria took us on a garden party at Société Gourmet, where we had the chance to attend a food styling workshop, with the stunning food photographer Adina Chitu. Our task during the workshop was first to cook and photograph the dishes afterwards. During the food photography workshop, what I found very helpful was the Live focus camera feature. The camera focus on the object in the front and offer you a blurred background. You can decide how strong the effect will be by dragging up and down the Blur slider.

We spent quite a big part of the day in this charming Bucharest house and enjoyed the beautiful outdoor space, warm rays of sun and good food!

Afterwards, we discovered the city from a completely different perspective through a city tour on a vintage tram that gave us a glimpse of how was everyday life in the Communist era.  Day 2 ended at a stunning bar restaurant right by the side of the lake.

Day 3:
Although we knew that it would rain, we didn’t want to stay in the hotel. It was our free day with a late flight in the evening. We ventured out and ended up drinking tasty matcha lattes with coconut flavour in Bucharest’s cutest Matcha Bar.

During those 3 days in Bucharest, not only did I have the chance to see Bucharest and visit some of it’s impressive buildings, such as The Palace of the Parliament, but also to learn about the endless creative possibilities of the Samsung Galaxy S10+ camera. For a person like me who is passionate about photography, it was a blast to gain exposure to so many different activities where we got the opportunity, not only to take photos, but also to create collages, GIFs and movies.

For those who would like to see more, I have shared a few Instagram stories on Instagram. You can find them in the highlight sections under the title “6th trip 2019”. And those who would like to visit the Little Paris, @samsungaustria put up a few travel tips together to help you get the best of Bucharest.

So far, I’ve traveled with @samsungaustria to quite a few places around the world: Paris, London, NYC, Ibiza, San Francisco and now Bucharest. We love creating thousands of unforgettable #samsunggalaxy moments around the world together and through all these travels, my Galaxy S10+ has turned out to be my favourite travel companion.

San Francisco

San Francisco

Some places on this planet seems to be so far away, so unattainable, and the chance to visit them seems even more impossible….

Until it happens. Read on, if you want to know, how I ended up in San Francisco!

San Francisco

I was invited to San Francisco by Samsung Austria to attend the Unpacked Event and to celebrate 10 Years Galaxy with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S10. The Unpacked event took place at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium and the evening party took place at the amazing terrace bar of The Proper Hotel.

I am not the best person to explain each and every new tech feature. What I can say with certainty is that there are two features that excite me particularly in the new Samsung Galaxy: first, the ultra wide angle lens (oh, yes!) and the partnership of Samsung with Instagram for the best Instagram experience on a smartphone. Exciting? For more informations, please have a look here.

San Francisco

In this blog post, I’d like to share with you a couple of photos I took during my stay in San Francisco, as well as a few city tips for food, coffee and cake.

San Francisco

I spent the first three days alone, going up and down the hills! It helped me a lot, that I had done online research for the city before I left Vienna. I can say, I was very well prepared and ready to discover San Francisco on my own. I suggest you to do the same, if you plan to head to a city for the first time alone.

San Francisco

Although my first three solo days were nicely spent, I was looking forward to spending the coming days with the good company of Nina and Greg (#TeamGalaxy from Austria)

San Francisco

What I loved about San Francisco: The architecture of the houses. All the cafes and restaurants that we visited. Pier 7. The sea lions. The area around the Palace of Fine Arts. What I liked less about San Francisco: Downtown San Francisco. The homeless people in the city center. Fisherman’s wharf area. The high prices of nearly everything.

San Francisco

Here is a list of the restaurants and the cafes that we visited and fell in love with:

Mr. Holmes Bakehouse / The riddlers / Petit crenn / Sightglass / Le marais bakery / Rose’s cafe / Media noche / Dandelion chocolate

San Francisco

I loved San Francisco. It wasn’t love at first sight though. It took me a while. Once you get to know the city better, you get to realise how pretty it is. And in order to get to know the city better, you have to get out of Downtown San Francisco. Explore the area around the Painted ladies, the area around the Palace of Fine Arts, Baker beach, Battery Spencer etc…

San Francisco

I have always find it hard to find the right words to describe beautiful things, places and experiences in life. Because when it comes to beautiful places/experiences, words become useless and poor. You have to go and see the view from Battery Spencer yourself, in order to understand what I’am talking about. Definetely a view that will never get out of my mind.

San Francisco

So far, I’ve traveled with @samsungaustria to quite a few places around the world: Paris, London, NYC, Ibiza and now San Francisco. We love making thousand unforgettable #samsunggalaxy moments around the world together!

Ibiza

Ibiza

An invitation by Samsung Austria to attend the „Golden Hour“ Photography Masterclass brought me to Ibiza, a place I’ve never visited before, at the beginning of July. The Photography Masterclass was directed by Uli Weber, a German photographer best known for his celebrity portraits.

Ibiza is, as we all know, a place related to night life and parties that last all night long. But we were not there for that reason. The goal of the workshop was to shoot the sunset with the Samsung Galaxy S9 plus phone and test the phone camera in low light conditions. July could not have gotten off to a better start…

On Monday night, I arrived quite late on the island. After traveling all day with a layover in Rome, there was not much left to do than go to bed immediately. My first impressions of the island at that moment were my huge, colourful hotel room and a fancy swimming pool visible from my balcony. All were hints to how much fun the next day would be.

Ibiza

The next day, right after breakfast, we went on a jeep safari tour together with the Samsung Switzerland team. Mariano and Niko, our guides and drivers, made sure to show us around the non-touristy parts of Ibiza. We mostly drove around the west coast. We saw the island from above and swam in the turquoise waters of Cala Tarida beach. Later on, we headed back to the hotel for lunch, before we arrived at the Cotton Fitness Club for the Masterclass.

Ibiza

The second day I had a free day to spend on my own, and I decided to use it by heading to Ibiza Old town. Initially I went for a little shopping because it was too hot to walk around. Later on, I walked up to the castle to enjoy a panoramic view of the city, and then down through the little streets in the old town.

Ibiza

Unfortunately, I don’t have Ibiza tips to share with you, as I was there for just three nights (2 full days). The only thing I would recommend is to avoid the area of Sant Antoni, if you are not that into partying. I am sure Ibiza offers more than that alone.

It was a short yet nice stay in Ibiza. Many thanks to Samsung Austria for one more amazing trip. We love making #withgalaxy thousands of unforgettable moments around the world together.

NYC

NYC
NYC

That I would find myself in NYC at the beginning of March…not even in my craziest dreams! But then again, reality often surprises us pleasantly when you expect it least and often surpasses our craziest dreams.

This was my second time in NYC. A couple of years ago, a friend of mine and I booked tickets to discover The Big Apple. We spent one week doing sightseeing. We literally saw everything in Manhattan by walking down all the streets and avenues. In order to feed our curiosity, we even went to Brooklyn and Astoria because we never knew if we would ever have the chance again to come back.

Back then, I was the typical tourist doing all the touristy stuff and Instagram didn’t exist.

NYC

This time, I visited NYC with Samsung Austria for their new QLED TV launch event. It was a completely different experience. Samsung Austria always plan the coolest things. How do I know that? You may remember that last year I also travelled with Samsung Austria to London and Paris. Therefore I was more than happy to join the team once more and jumped on a plane to JFK airport that very Saturday morning.

I decided to fly to NYC three days before the Press event began. The first three photos were taken at Hannah’s apartment, the place where I stayed the first two nights. I never thought that I would ever have the chance to stay in an apartment in Manhattan. I don’t know why exactly but I felt like that this could only happen in the movies and not in real life.

I spent the weekend with Hannah and her family, and also met Reed and his friends. I couldn’t have asked for a better welcome in NYC. I also enjoyed a little me time and went for a walk on my own on the Brooklyn Bridge and then back to the hotel on foot.

NYC
NYC

On the first day of the press trip, Samsung took us on a boat tour on the Hudson river. Right after that, we visited the Samsung 837 Flagship Store in the Meatpacking District in Manhattan where we spent about one hour trying out virtual reality. We took part in interactive art installations, and saw a larger-than-life, three-story screen. It was actually a space where they show you how to do more than you thought possible using the Samsung devices. It’s a really impressive space that I would recommend you visit if you find yourself in Manhattan.

On the second day of the press trip we headed to the American Stock Exchange Building for The First Look Event. Through a keynote and various presentations, we found out that Samsung QLED TV was made for more than simply watching. Samsung aim to provide various TV experiences, tailored to diverse lifestyles so that every moment spent at home is a new adventure. For more details, please check this link here.

NYC

Maybe it’s not fair to compare and say this, but if I want to be completely honest with you I liked my second visit to NYC a little bit more than my first. Remember, it’s never the place itself, it’s always the people you meet and spend time with that make the trip so special.

From a photography point of view, NYC was overwhelming and trying to create quality content to feed the TVG photography blog, the IG account and the IG stories was quite challenging. As a result, there are not so many photos here. But you can find more, as always on Instagram.

NYC

Here is a list of the restaurants and cafes that I visited and fell in love with this time:

Cecconi’s Dumbo New York / Crosby Street Hotel / Sadelle’s / Morgenstern’s ice cream parlor/ Freemans Restaurant / Cha Cha Matcha / Supermoon Bakehouse / Keens steakhouseThe Butcher’s Daughter / The Standard Grill / The bar room at the Temple Court

Now that I found my favorite spots in the city (and got a little bit addicted to them)…can we please go back? My mind is seriously playing with the idea of attending a Photoshop course in Manhattan
