Maldives has always lived in my mind like a place of paradisiacal beauty destined for honeymooners only. Is it because the media promoted it like that? Maybe! However, Maldives is not for honeymooners only and I am glad that I had the chance to experience holidays in the Maldives with friends!
I was in Paris when I got the invitation from my friend, Michelle from Travel Junkie Diary, to join her in an exciting trip to the Maldives. To be honest, I didn’t believe that an invitation like that would ever come my way, because you know, some things are just too good to be true. Nevertheless, when I came back home to Vienna, Michelle and I started getting into the details about our next travel adventure on a luxury private island resort called Coco Prive Kuda Hithi in the Maldives. My wish to escape the cold winter in Europe has been heard.
Flying over Maldives with Fly Dubai treated us to a bird’s eye view of the islands, sandbars, and lagoons. In addition, the views were a hint of how beautiful the following days would be. What I’ve been seeing in travel brochures for the longest time was unfolding in front of my eyes.
When we arrived at Malé International Airport, we were picked up and transferred by a private yacht to the private island of Coco Prive Kuda Hithi in the Maldives. Once my feet touched ground on this little island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, I knew I would love it forever. I can list a million reasons why I love this place so much like nothing else in the world, but words will never be enough to describe the beauty of this private island resort and how it made me feel. I hope that at least the pictures in this blog post will give you an idea, but I still need to add here that the whole experience was just unreal and beyond any expectation.

Back in the mid of September, I had the opportunity to travel to Morocco and spend three amazing nights and even more amazing days at La Mamounia, a palace-hotel in Marrakesh. It was actually a trip that my friend Edisa and I were planning for months; since last May to be more exact. Our excitement and joy at the chance to stay at La Mamounia Marrakesh were huge. Before we got there, we were looking at all the hotel pictures on Instagram and we were dying to visit that dreamy place too.
And then the day came when we arrived at a deluxe room overlooking the enchanting gardens of La Mamounia and the famous Koutoubia Mosque. This place had become my home away from home, a new world to discover.
We spent a large part of the day at La Mamounia Marrakesh . Our days began with a delicious breakfast by the pool. Later on, we snapped some photos here and there before we head to the Medina of Marrakesh. For one of the evenings, we stayed at the hotel where we had dinner at the Moroccan restaurant in a romantic setting with candles. At the end of each day, we always took a stroll in the garden through the central alley, rose bushes, and orange trees. It helped us to digest our meal, and to let our minds wander before we go to sleep.
What a pity, time passes by so quickly when you are having fun. The day came when we had to check out, although we would have loved to stay a little bit longer, if you want me to tell you the truth…

Since I have visited Paris several times already, I had the pleasure of staying in many hotels and in many different districts around the city. This time, I had the chance to stay at the Adèle et Jules, a boutique hotel situated in the 9th arrondissement in Paris. Because I have been traveling so often lately, I have become very picky when it comes to accomodation. With that being said, I was happy to discover one more gem in Paris, that I could comfortably call, my home away from home.
During my stay at the charming Adèle et Jules boutique hotel, I paid attention to each and every detail of the hotel. What I noticed (and loved as well) was their attention to the details. The colors matched with each other, the quality of the mattress, of the bathrobe and of all the textiles that were selected for use in this charming Parisian boutique hotel. I took some pictures of the interior design so that you can have a look. I hope this can be a helpful tip for your next visit to Paris.
Apart from the interion design, I also loved that there was an ATM right next to the corner of the hotel (important when in need of cash). In addition, the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the metro station Grands Boulevards.
Generally, I do love small boutique hotels. The private atmosphere, the laid-back feel, and the peace that they can offer you are experiences to be enjoyed. And the Adèle et Jules hotel is for those who are looking for a new, modern, clean and centrally situated boutique hotel in a nice neighborhood of Paris and for those who love clever and positive decor. I will definitely come back to Adèle et Jules, our boutique hotel in Paris. ♥
I spent the last days of July with my friend Edisa at the wellness hotel, Firenze Number Nine, in the heart of Florence. On The Viennese Girl blog, I am happy to feature all the beautiful hotels where I have had the good fortune to stay at and hope that you can use the information from my posts as useful tip when you are looking for accommodations, in this case, Florence. There were several things that I loved about this boutique wellness hotel, such as: the young and enthusiastic staff, the breakfast in the garden, the smell once you enter the hotel, the location of the hotel, our gorgeous maisonette, and the view from the big windows, to name just a few. I remember how quickly and easily Edisa and I adjusted ourselves in Florence, like we have been living there forever. Our boutique hotel, Firenze Number Nine, was our home, our starting point for our little adventures around Florence. It felt like “we really want to be here” and “this is the place to be right now”. On the last day, we also tried out the hotel’s spa department. Both of us treated our bodies to a relaxing massage that lasted about one hour. It felt so good having such a treatment, especially after a few days of taking photos and walking around the city, non-stop. Sadly though, after the full body massage, it was time for us to check out.. Can’t wait to go back! ♥
It was Edisa’s birthday and she wanted to do something special. I told her that I would be in Greece for a press trip organized by the Greek National Tourism Organization but I could extend my stay in my homeland if she wanted to come and find me in Greece. I suggested that we could go to Mykonos. And this is how our little adventure started…
I flew from Skiathos to Athens and from Athens to Mykonos. I hate morning flights that forces my bell to ring at 05.00 am but on the other side, who cares if you are about to spend a couple of days at Bill&Coo Suites and Lounge in Mykonos with the company of a good friend? Once I arrived, a member of the staff picked me up from the airport with a white Jeep with beige leather interior and offered me a hot towel to clean my hands. I still remember some details of the service, small gestures like this, provided by the hotel that made our stay at Bill&Coo Suites and Lounge special, unique and above all unforgettable.
When I stepped in, I was offered a welcome drink and another member of the staff came to me with a map explaining some things about the island. Once I entered Bill&Coo Suites and Lounge, the first glance at the breathtaking view over swimming pool, beach, and all this romantic oasis that surrounded me had me thinking…. Why I haven’t discovered that place earlier? It was time for me to breathe easily and unwind. Edisa came on another flight a few hours later.
In the days that followed, we did all kind of things that belong to what someone would call as dreamy holidays. We relaxed in a 5 star Mykonian suite, savored amazing Greek food, took many photos, did funny things, made new friends, talked to strangers, and discovered hidden paths in the city of Mykonos. But most of all we were pampered from the hotel and felt like two small princesses. What I really really loved from our stay at Bill&Coo Suites and Lounge was that the staff surprised us pleasantly every now and then by being very generous and friendly to all the guests, the privacy of our suite, the dinner from the restaurant’s Chef, Athinagoras Kostakos (could he cook like this for me everyday…?), and the music from the bar…!!!!! It felt like everything was unfolding very naturally and effortlessly. We didn’t have to worry about anything, we were in good hands.
But then comes that day when you have to leave a place you don’t want to leave. Hmm… Hopefully we will get back soon to discover their beach club “Bill & Coo Coast Suites” that Bill&Coo Suites and Lounge launched to celebrate their 10 years anniversary.
Obviously we fell in love with Bill&Coo Suites and Lounge. Who wouldn’t? ♥
