I really wonder how do we manage to take all those photos when it’s so cold, windy and sometimes rainy outside. It’s like a hobby you like so much and you are not willing to give up even if you have to undertake it under those unpleasant circumstances. It was very cold when we snapped those photos. Cold weather is definitely not for me and definitely not a good idea for shooting outdoors.

But there are so many beautiful details around Vienna that we can hardly keep ourselves from not shooting, details that catch my attention and sweep me off my feet. This blog post includes many things I love lately. My new pair of boots from Zara, my xmas present from Mango, city lights, streets of Vienna, and one of my favorite chocolate shops.♥

When the weather forecast predicts snow, usually my friends warn me about it but this time nobody said anything and waking up to this snowy landscape was such a nice surprise. To be honest, I had a small suspicion, because there were some snow flakes in the air the night before but I never imagined that next day the ground would be blanketed by a foot of fresh snow.

Snow and the magical air that comes with it were inviting us to take some pictures. You see, some are ski enthusiasts while my friends and I are photos enthusiasts. Those photos were snapped at Maria-Theresien Square between Natural History Museum and the Art History Museum in Vienna. We chose this place not by chance. I wanted to have those round bushes that were covered by snow as the background (and I wanted to think that they were covered not by snow but by sugar). But maybe I had too high expectations and didn’t reckon the freezing cold that made our hands suffer and forced us leave the Maria-Theresien Square and run for that warm chocolate drink at Burgring 1 Cafe!♥

shades of autumn

We were in the mood for autumn and our wish was to visit a park to see and take pictures of the falling leaves that have yellow, red, and gold colors.

But, as usual, we didn’t know to which park we should go. After a long discussion, we headed to Türkenschanzpark (difficult to say that word) influenced by the opinion of a friend of mine (who by the way makes her way to India today…..so jealous…safe travels I wish to her) told me that she finds Türkenschanzpark in Vienna more beautiful than Schönbrunn gardens. Really? What do you think?

Unfortunately we arrived a bit late and it started getting dark, but I promise I’ll go back soon and take more pictures.

Photos above were snapped on my holidays in Santorini by Antonio Giannakos.

My return to Vienna hadn’t been as good as I would’ve liked. It was raining nonstop for two days and that didn’t help me at all to adapt myself smoothly to the city life. Leaving a place which has 30 degrees to go to a place which has 14 was very disappointing. I wanted to hide myself under a duvet, or even better, to press a button that would teleport me back to the magic Cyclades, but instead of that, I had to run errands all day in rain. September can be a cruel month for many people, I guess. Kids get back to school and adults get back to work. Whatever happens, always look on the bright side of life.

MOLE WEST

Here is a weekend getaway idea for you: If you live in Vienna and have a car, or a friend of yours has a car and you two (or three, or four) want to do something different on the weekend and go for a breakfast, dinner, or for a drink next to the lake, visit Mole West in the Lake Neusiedl. As far as I remember they don’t accept reservations and on the warm summer nights this place is usually full. You have to be a bit patient until a table is free. If you want to have a dinner, go earlier than 22.00 because the kitchen closes at 22.00.
It’s a great location and the place gives you that feeling of being on a holiday, so it’s totally worth a visit in my opinion. I visited this place twice and both times we had a chat with a waiter who told us that he came from Hungary and I still remember that he was especially kind to us. The second time he even brought us some finger food even when the kitchen was closed. Overall, a nice experience.♥
