My Paris perfect apartment was located in the Avenue de La Bourdonnais. Uber left me in front of the door. I stopped for a while and looked up. Having an apartment with a view of the Eiffel Tower wasn’t anymore one more part of my unlimited imagination but it was about to become my daily reality. For a moment, all the apartments I have lived in in the past unfolded in front of my eyes and I caught myself reflecting on “how far I‘ve gone”. I snapped a picture to freeze the moment with a little hope that this moment will last forever. The lift, one of those old ones, brought me to the fifth floor. After I opened the door, it took me some time to realize what is happening. My Chambertin apartment blew me away, from the moment I stepped in till now as I write this post. I called a friend of mine and asked “what’s happening and where all this is going?”
The days that followed were as dreamy as my Paris Perfect Aparment: every morning breakfast at the balcony, hot evening baths, encounters with endearing Parisian people, a dazzling Chanel fashion show and in the background a bling bling Eiffel Tower hypnotizing me every night on the Avenue de la Bourdonnais.♥
One thing is sure: I must be lucky. Attending the Chanel fashion show which took place at the Grand Palais on the 8th of March and sitting in front row only you must have a kind of good luck, I guess. Actually, I knew that the runway spectacle would be special, that’s why I booked a last minute flight ticket and landed in Paris a few days before the show. And it was the first time I attended a catwalk in Paris Fashion Week and hope that more occasions like that will bring me back to Paris, even if I have to look for a last minute flight ticket desperately.
I saw the runway through my Canon lenses where models such as Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Soo JooPark among 91 others walked in front of my lenses wearing pink tweed suits, bowler hats, leather boots, biker gloves and Chanel pearls. Besides, I stumbled upon Pharrell Williams, Willow Smith and Grace Coddington, and personally met a very special girl from Australia, Nicole Warne.
I especially loved taking photos of the venue before and after the show: white carpets, beige walls, golden chairs, mirrors everywhere, a very impressive glass ceiling above us and the perfect light for photography. And what about the make up? I was impressed to find out that the quilted eye makeup was inspired by the iconic leather bag. That was really impressive and need to find a way to do that on my eyes too.
The CHANEL fashion show would be described in one word as mesmerizing and here, on The Viennese Girl blog, we only live for mesmerizing moments.♥
You can find them everywhere in my room: next to my pc on my desk, under my duvet, in my bucket bag, behind my books and between my magazines. I am talking about those spherical EOS lip balms that occupy my space throughout all year and I am happy that they do because in winter (thank God is behind us) my lips were never dry… But even when my lips are not dry, I use the balms because they come in different colors and irresistible scents that soon become a little addiction of mine.
And I was glad to find out that Bettine share the same love for the Eos lipbalms and was up for a funny photo shooting where we had to try out the three new limited flavors, Fresh Watermelon, Passion Fruit and Honeysuckle and play around with them on one of the sunny days last week at Schönbrunn.
Back in Parisfor five nights and six wonderful days. I was planning to visit Paris, because this is what I always do for my birthday every March but an invitation to attend the CHANEL fashion show had me booking flight tickets and looking for hotel a little bit earlier than I have planned.
It was my fourth visit to the city of lights, all the boulevards and cafes are now so familiar to me that I feel like I am not a tourist anymore (although I still need to look at the map now and then) but if things turn out the way I wish, I will be visiting the city that inspires me the most more often. It might even sound weird but it’s true that Paris started becoming my second home, where I always meet nice people and never feel alone. ♥
