There isn’t a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon rather than catching up with dear friends in a super cute cafe like Himmelblau, which means azure in English. This was actually my second visit at Himmelblau. I remember the first time I visited it was back in summer, you can find my summery visit here. This time I took some pictures outside in the Kutschkermarkt and later on I jumped into Himmelblau to warm up. Our coffee was served in azure cups, we made ourselves comfortable and uploaded some spontaneous photos of the three of us on Instagram.♥
Between university exams and photography lessons, I managed to catch up with some dear friends over a cup of coffee. Here is to another cafe that we visited most recently. Burgring 1 has its address as the name and a special character because of its shabby-chic interior. Besides, this is one more place in Vienna where I can speak Italian with the staff! If I am in the area, between Burggarten and Mariahilferstrasse, and have some spare time, I stop by for a laid back -chocolate- drink. Three are the things that I like at Burgring 1: the lights dangling from the ceiling, the comfortable couches, and the big windows – I guess because I always have that habit to do some people watching of those passing by.♥

The Viennese girl blog event took place yesterday for the first time at Wunderladen Fashion Cafe in Vienna. Thank you all and each one of you for coming, for showing me your support and your love by being there. I met so many interesting like-minded enthusiastic people and received a constructive and insightful feedback for the blog that helps me a lot. At the moment of writing this post, I am thinking of some of you, who brought a smile to my face, Maria from Bulgaria, Natalie from Russia, Kely from Brazil, Jasmina from Finland, Valentina from Italy, Carly from Australia, Laura, my Greek friends and of course how can I forget Mr. Dado and so many others from Usa and the two sisters who just arrived in Vienna from London. This is the best evidence, that The Viennese Girl Blog has an international flair and friends from all over the world. Thank you for coming. It means a lot to me meeting you in person.
As I have already said in the previous post, it was the first time that I organized something like that and I have the feeling that people enjoyed the evening so much like I did. Special thanks to Sabrina, the owner of Wunderladen Cafe, who let us use her place and make this happen. Wunderladen cafe was without a doubt the ideal place for The Viennese Girl blog event. It felt like being at home. Besides, thanks to Elena Azzalini for making this event more special and memorable with her always beautiful photography.♥

I really wonder how do we manage to take all those photos when it’s so cold, windy and sometimes rainy outside. It’s like a hobby you like so much and you are not willing to give up even if you have to undertake it under those unpleasant circumstances. It was very cold when we snapped those photos. Cold weather is definitely not for me and definitely not a good idea for shooting outdoors.
But there are so many beautiful details around Vienna that we can hardly keep ourselves from not shooting, details that catch my attention and sweep me off my feet. This blog post includes many things I love lately. My new pair of boots from Zara, my xmas present from Mango, city lights, streets of Vienna, and one of my favorite chocolate shops.♥

How do you prepare yourself to travel? Don’t tell me you are like my cousin that does nothing (sorry cousin). I remember that every time we were about to visit a European capital city together, he did absolutely nothing. I was the one who did all the research on the web before the departure. This means reading blogs for tips, writing long lists with the things that we should see and do, downloading maps, and buying museum tickets. My cousin did nothing maybe because he knew that he had a hard core traveler on his side and he could just relax and rely on me. To be honest to you, I find pleasure on preparing a trip and collecting useful information but on the other side, I would love it if someone someday would organize a trip for me and i would have to do absolutely nothing. Someone who would say to me “I have booked everything, you don’t have to do something.” How cool would that be?
Unfortunately I don’t get to travel as much as I wish I did and that has as result me playing the tourist in my own town. I guess, that is a bad symptom of a person who was bitten by the travel bug but doesn’t travel that often. Photos of this post are taken at the Tourist Info Office in Albertinaplatz. For all the avid travelers like me that are about to visit Vienna, check my blog for Vienna tips and once you are here, visit the Tourist Info Office to get brochures and maps that they have created for you. There are so many brochures for free in different languages and people who work there are willing to welcome and help you to make your stay unforgettable. ♥
In 2014 I received many emails from people that enjoyed my Vienna tips and wanted to thank me for all this information that I provided through my blog. The love I received every time they contacted me and the gratitude I feel now is so huge that they make me keep on working on this project of mine in 2015. I am very happy that the category Dear Vienna resulted to be a lovely English speaking city guide that you can find on the web for free. For those who reside in Vienna and those who will visit Vienna. Sometimes I get to know those persons who write to me like that family who came from Greece to Vienna for a couple of days on Christmas. It was so nice getting to know them in person, drinking a cup of hot chocolate together at Le Bol and getting a feedback for the city and my Vienna tips.
Today I am going to write about another special place located in the center of Vienna that is called Simply Raw Bakery. We made it on time to catch that sofa next to the fireplace before it started snowing. We ordered a cup of coffee and smoothie and listened to French music. To my surprise, there was also a dog whose name is Mojito. Mojito was very lovely, quiet and shy. He let me cuddle him but he didn’t let me take a picture of him (why Mojito?). As soon as he understood that I was going to snap a photo of him, he was going back to his bed (and again, why Mojito?). At Simply Raw Bakery you can have wireless internet and you can pay with Bankomat (debit card), two things that are important to mention.
The Simply Raw Bakery is now my Simply Love Bakery in Vienna, even if Mojito ignored my wish to take a picture of him.♥
Christmas holiday is over and the ball season will soon begin in Vienna. In between, I have some exciting news. When I met Sabrina in person and visited her fashion cafe in the 4th district of Vienna, I thought “it would be nice to organize a small after work event with those who follow The Viennese Girl blog on the web and Instagram.” I asked Sabrina if I have the permission to organize something like that in her fashion cafe and I am glad to say that Sabrina liked my idea and expressed her agreement to host the event.
Why? I receive many emails now and then from people in Vienna who read my blog, follow my Vienna tips and want to meet me in person. Because I don’t have the time to meet them, each and every one, I decided to make this event, so by doing this, I ‘ll have the chance to meet you all who are interested in the blog and wish you “happy new year” in person. It’s the first time that I organize something like that, so to be honest, we have no sponsorship, neither do we sell any product. It’s not going to be a big event with big happenings. Just come as you are, either alone or with your friends and bring your best smile. It will be a nice opportunity to toast with you to the New Year ahead.
How to participate: Please keep in mind that the cafe is small. In order to organize it better and not have problem with the space, you must follow this link on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/332864920257676/ and click on YES/NO/MAYBE. This is essential, because we need to know how many persons will show up and help us to organize it better.
Where and when: The event will take place at Wunderladen Cafe on Friday, 16 January 2015 and will start at 18.00.
Thank you, Silia! ♥

Oh la la, voilà! Business cards for The Viennese Girl blog! My friend Ioanna made them for me and they are simple and fabulous. She made them exactly how I asked her to make them (she is the best personal assistant – have to mention that). Mint with gold letters. I simply love those two colors combined together: mint with gold!! Except the colors, I wanted them to be so simple, just the name of the website in the middle and nothing else. I received them recently and got so excited, I never had something like that before.
If you really fancy having one, just send me an email with your address and I will send one card, to the two first ones who write me, as a little something. ♥
I couldn’t find a better photo to wish you Happy New Year. This tiny creature, Shorty, and I wish you all the best for 2015. Many thanks to the persons who are close to me, support me, and make my life more beautiful (they know who they are).
For the year that went by, I keep only the good moments and for the year that just came, may I make a wish? I wish to get back to the greek islands as soon as possible. Καλή χρονιά ♥
